I wouldn't volunteer, Aimee, for the same reasons I wouldn't mod for TSO. It's a hard job and for no pay. Getting paid makes the whole thing much more professional, I think, and some boards do pay. The volunteer model can work, though, as it does (for the most part) on Stratics for TSO, but as I mentioned earlier, those mods can't have any hand whatsoever in getting you booted from the game and your goods confiscated.

And - I thought you knew this, Aimee - I can't volunteer, or be a greeter, or be a mentor, or anything else, or even go to see my own house on Help Island, because I have a warning, and it was an unfair one, too. One poster (a mentor) kept telling me to stop injecting myself into the thread, and I finally turned around and told her to get off MY forums instead. Somehow my point was missed. I appealed that warning, but of course got no reply whatsoever.

Not only has my eleven months on these forums and in this game turned me into an activist (!), it's also turned me into a criminal. Both are unusual roles for me. I can't help but think that this must mean that maybe, in this game, it's a good thing to be a criminal.

It came from here. This post violated many forum rules for posting, as well as the TOS/CS, and I know it was reported by many people. If you received no sanction for this then I really wonder why not. It is a fair question, especially since this sewage came from a mentor and now one who wants to judge posts that violate the very same rules.

Would you apply the same standards to the posts made by other members that you apply to this post, and if not, then why should you have gotten a pass on this one. As a resmod, what would you do if you saw this post in a thread? Would your response depend upon who made it and/or who was the target?

My apologies to all that this thread has now become about ME. As a rule though, that I live by, when I accept an apology I usually drop it and let it die. Cristiano's reference to my curse filled post didn't even ring a bell with me as that is how I'm usually wont to post anyway. Much thanks to Katy though for knocking out the cobwebs of my addled brain.
