Well, ResMods won't have any actual power, as they won't be able to close threads. Instead it sounds like they get a semi-secret "voting" ability for threads, kinda like how Slashdot works.
It won't affect the anarchy much. I won't be joining; I like moving unfettered through the forums too much. ![]() _____________________

The prophecy is almost complete. After Torley and Ulrika become Lindens shall government come to SL. Doesn't the prophecy tell of a return of the exiled? _____________________

Well, this should prove interesting, at least.
coco P.S. Since they are making it impossible for us to rate the threads (I don't believe I read that wrong), it's too bad they don't turn off those star ratings on the classifieds. They serve no good purpose. It would take only the checking of one box per classified forum to accomplish this. _____________________

Well, this should prove interesting, at least. Oh, hohoho, yes indeed. Robert Kennedy seems to have invented a Chinese curse. "May you live in interesting times." Drama is going to be delicious. _____________________

Why didn't they list the people already nominated by the community team?

Robin, Jeska, and Pathfinder represented the community team at the SLCC. I think Jesse is on it too; yes?

I'm kissing up while I still have time. ![]() I believe the power of positive kissing up has been amply and recently demonstrated. Speaking of which, I recall a post of Torley's with a picture of "How To Win Friends And Influence People" or some such similar book. Can anyone locate that post? _____________________

Well, needless to say, I don't like the idea of giving other residents the power to get a person banned from the game. Even "rotating" power.
Secondly, this idea that the forum moderators will be able to star-rate the threads - and no one else! - has got to be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard of for a forum. What are they trying to do, tell us what we are supposed to think is good and what we are supposed to think is bad? Why should these residents get to star-rate threads and we - other residents - don't? OK, so maybe they just put five stars by those threads whose ideas/tone/whatever they like. Still bad. Altogether, this plan is very good for squelching speech. Or, more aptly, making sure that speech forms in a way the corporation approves. On the other hand, this augers well for everyone else's blogs and forums. coco _____________________
