Speaking of which, I recall a post of Torley's with a picture of "How To Win Friends And Influence People" or some such similar book. Can anyone locate that post?

I don't remember where I put the post, but I believe it was actually Donald Trump's How to Get Rich. Either that or Norman Vincent Peale's The Power of Positive Thinking.

The thought has crossed my mind of what the forums would be like with a million customers.

Maybe Aimee's "How to win debates & influence Lindens" thread?

Oh, and Torley must be on the Community Team. :)

Have clean Linden Rapsheet (no warnings/suspensions)
01-12-2006 21:29
Notice that line? Higher standards than exist for Mentors, Teachers and Live Help. That would include forum warnings and suspensions, wouldn't it?

Yes it would. Which lets me out, on account of I have one warning for saying the same thing back to a person she just said to me, and Ulrika, as well, I believe. And god knows who all else.

Torley, when are they going to institute this, do you know?

coco

P.S. Margaret, I think that was unofficial though.

Of those two, Torley, it would have been "The Power of Positive Thinking".

I would have thought you'd be lambasted for suggesting that was a worthwhile book.

I wonder if it just not known anymore. I guess people read Dr. Phil these days.

I think I figured out why I like Ulrika so much.

She reminds me of Durandal. I do not know why this is so. Yet, reading Ulrika's posts briefly displaces my perceptions of time and makes me feel like a little kid again, tromping about on the moons of Lh'owon. </geekout>

Your pink pony warning. I meant to say "informal." That was an informal warning, wasn't it? Might not count.

I didn't know there were varying degrees of warnings and the requirements just say "warnings", no qualifier as to informal or otherwise.

Ah, I don't exactly know yet, Coco. I haven't seen a hardline date of when ResModding will actually be active on the SL Forums. Deadline for submissions (for the 1st round) is Jan. 18 as per what Jeska said here. Just getting revved up right now so a clearer picture has yet to emerge. :)

Yay! Your positivity has made completely forget that there is not a chance in heck I'll be allowed to moderate. I've had so many formal warnings I've lost count. :D

Because we have not persuaded them to adopt Proposition 830.

From: someone
Prop 830: Linden Employee Communications Standards
---
Linden employees must not contradict themselves or other Linden employees.

Linden employees may not cite as support or explanation an ambiguous or contradictory passage from a Linden document, or cite a passage which is contradicted elsewhere in Linden produced statements.

Linden staff member's statements must be clear, concise, comprehensive, coherent, and contradiction-free.

Linden employees responding to a question will answer the question that was actually asked, not just one that has a few words in common with the question asked.

And there is Robin Linden's post suggesting that we can never trust any statement they make
From: Robin Linden
We do try to do what seems right and best, and not to hide behind policies or rules.

I'd say that's official policy but there would be some kind of self-referential contradiction involved.

Since we don't get to see people's rap sheets they can say and do whatever they please and we won't have any way to prove anything about it.
