a) an official spokesperson?
b) relaying hearsay?
c) involved in the business dealings?
d) even aware that the word may be inappropriate to accurately convey what occurred? It is true that we only have what was said in the post and what a Suicide Girl said. If the Lindens would like to come on and say that the SG approached them, and not the other way around, I'm all ears. I've basically invited them a dozen times to do just that. coco |

coco Why do they need to? Who approached who makes absolutely no difference. You have zero say in Linden Lab's business decisions.

coco How did this go from you - singular - continually asking for information that LL has no real obligation to provide to the community at large, to an implied representation of the entire customer base?

coco You repeatedly demand information from them that you have no right to ask for. It is absolutely, unequivocably none of your business in any way shape or form what deal or relationship they have with this site. You do not get to dictate their marketing. You are not an investor. I don't get to tell Sprint how to market their cell phones or demand the terms they have established with anyone. I know it irritates you for anyone to get anything that you don't have, but it does not entitle you to be privvy to private decisions that LL makes about their own business. If you want to micromanage the company, then become a board member.

The word "gave" could mean either freely or in exchange for something else of value... even if only knowing that the SG members would write about and share their experiences with members of their community and LL would gain membership through viral marketing (which goes back to my earlier analogy). And when I pay for my utilities, they "provide" me with those services... gas, electricity... even including trash removal (something intangible as well). Is this not true? The Suicide Girls website is not just an "online community," it is also a for-profit business (owned, by the way, by a man). I believe that includes quite a few businesses including, for the most part, Linden Lab. Philip is both the founder and CEO of a privately-held, for-profit company with an "online community". Also, I'm not certain that the Linden in question wrote anything. Are you absolutely certain, such that you can state as a FACT, that a Linden - any Linden - wrote the description? I can imagine that someone at SG wrote the text, emailed it to LL, and it was then entered in the appropriate form. Is that not a possibility??? From: Cocoanut Cookie 6. None of this is good. coco Coco, we really do not have any say in who SL "lets in" or in any business dealings they might have with any other third parties... unless you happen to be a stockholder.
