This has gone from absurd to farcical.

...and the re-enacted portion contains a caveat which in turn says that the re-enactment applies only to those computer aided-generated/altered images which are indistinguishable from real images. This clearly excludes SL's 3d enviroment and AVs as no one could be confused between a RL image of a person and a SL AV.

No laws are being broken, although I'll go on and make my own caveat that I'm personally disgusted by these activities and do not partake or support them, only the right of their adherents to persue them in so far as the rules of LL and the laws of the goverment which currently houses LL. Y'know so someone doesn't come out and accuse me of something which seems par for the course on these threads.

A coupla things.

1. Though something being illegal irl would be good reason for LL to forbid it here, it's also true that LL forbids here things which are legal (in the U.S.) irl. Such as Nazi propoganda/builds.

2. Although I very much sympathize with Bella, and others who don't like this in SL (and I do think it's dangerous), it's possible some of this role-play is being misunderstood.

Remember the thread in about the guy in adult diapers in off-topic, complete with pictures? I know there are people who get off on being dressed and treated as a baby, with nary a thought of a real child ever entering the picture. I don't know if that is so true of those who engage in the scenarios with them, but it is a possibility.

Until you can show us what makes an AV a Child AV, you can't even begin to say what av child porn is...

Height... doesn't work because there exist midgets/tinies/Chibis...
Look... doesn't work because there is no hard dividing line in looks between an adult and a child.
Age... doesn't apply. If someone with a 1 day old AV is an adult, a child is impossible, by definition.
Character... doesn't work... unless you want those who are adults in ageplay classed as children.

if this is a correct assumption then i have to say i am all for nearly any kind of role playing after all second life is a second life for most of us where we can fulfill our wildest fantasies.

IMHO this is like arguing about what people are allowed to think about when they masturbate. SL isn't RL, the AVs aren't real people (instead, representations of the adults behind them), and asking to limit how people express themselves one way is opening the door to secrecy and further censorship.

Why not tell people they can only have sex behind closed doors, too? THe nice thing about the internet is that if something offends you, you can *click* turn it off. People making a big deal about this sort of thing are always a loud minority, as the majority just simply doesn't care. The fact that only 20% of any given population of an online community ever visits that community's forums supports this.

Seriously, if you're getting offended by something consenting adults are doing that has nothing to do with you, you really need to re-evaluate yourself. This is just the "Oh shit I'm offended" flavor of the week. In another week the forum will be full of complaints about people saying that Furries encourage the sexual abuse of animals, and it'll sound just as stupid then as this does now.

Hell, for all we know, some secret pedophile out there probably has a totally untouched child in their home, because SL gives them an outlet for their illness and they are thankful for it. Don't knock what you don't understand about people, there's two sides to every coin.

How is it child porn if no child is involved?

I'd say that the Lindens ARE against child porn.

However, there's no such thing as a child AV, as AVs do not age and represent adults sitting at their computers.

So I can safely assume the Lindens are 100% against child porn, but since that doesn't apply in any form to SL, your abuse reports will be treated the same as those up to this point have been.

These arguments usually start because of one of those responses, because people have this irritating tendency to think they're "special" and that them being offended should change the world.
