one reason that I used onrez more than xstreet is because of the ability to add money at anytime, quickly and easily, ANYWHERE in world with the onrez wallet. Having to find a terminal to add funds is annoying, and often when SL has their typical issues of not being able to TP, this causes headaches for me, and often times I will find the same item, or similar at onrez.com, because of the ease of adding money into my account.
in all honesty though..is this a safe idea when as it is LL has enough trouble keeping the grid from failing almost on a daily basis now? Fix one project before you start another. Make a stable grid and impress all of us 2+ year vets, as we all say, at least most, "SL wouldn't be SL if it was 'normal' we expect a grid crash or issues on a daily basis, if not..then something is bound to happen and go massivly wrong"

Sorry if I missed this, but what will the integration of xstreet into SL look like? Are you planning something like a tab in the search window? I assume there will be a link from the SL website?

What about those of us who Chose onrez over slx. Placed over 1000 items and created lots of vendors. Are we just SOL? Will we be compensated for the days and weeks of work it would take just to move things over?

What will become of the OnRez Viewer?

Excellent. I am assuming this means you will be getting rid of all the stolen content that has filled the pages of Xstreet for ages now.

This is indeed a very interesting concept but I do have reservations about it.
My 2 major concerns are thus:
1: The ability to sell L$ for USD and transfer rapidly over to PayPal. I have used XStreet to handle these transactions because the services offered by LL are too slow. XStreet has in the past been able to move USD to PayPal within moments of submitting the transfer request. Will this remain the same once the transfer is complete or will we be forced to use the slow system we did our best to avoid? I ask this because I use PayPal to cover tier and expenses associated with SL and if it will take a week or more to see a single 20$ transaction go through then I do not see how this will benefit the merchants who rely upon the services of XStreet. Does LL plan on jacking up the wonderful system that is behind XStreet's SL/USD conversion system or does LL intend on putting their hands into a system that works very well?
2: My business specializes in adult oriented items. I know those items are a controversy in SL but alas, it is what I do and it helps support my SL use. I need to know that this merger will not affect my product or the ability to list/sell them on XStreet. How does LL plan on dealing with adult related material that is currently on XStreet?

I suppose this means the end of the XStreetSL forums.
And the product review and rating system I suspect will disappear.

I truly hope that you people do not drag what was a great service down with you. LL's customer service is a joke. Will this mean that Xstreet will be going the way of LL and only working for those with premium accounts?
Another feature that would be great is the ability to link accounts like you can do with Onrez. I don't see any of this happening, but it's worth a shot to suggest it.
Please LL, don't ruin something that's already great. After the OS debacle, we have all lost our faith in you, Here's a chance to earn some of that back.

Banned from SLX
01-20-2009 21:54
I've been listed with OnRez for a long time because I was banned from SLX. I was banned for "reposting" something. Needless to say when I did this I was a newbie...I posted something and noticed it wasn't there the next day. I thought I had done something wrong and posted it again. Well when I got to my email, they sent me a dear joanne letter saying your banned...
Well I'd like to know, since your taking away my on rez account is there going to be a way to reestablish my account with SLX since it was totally unfair and their people refused to even listen, talk or communicate...
Are the Lindens going to let us plead our case since the customer service at SLX refused to?

From: Zep Palen So how about Hippo's lately marriage to XStreetSL....does that mean that SL will now build or benefit that project over other vendor creators ?
Or worse. Does it mean that LL will now be directly competing with other vendor creators by continuing the faulty xVend project from XStreet.
I think this decision stinks and as a minimum demands a fast respond to this exact issue. We are alot of creators of vending machines in sl who will be damaged awefully of this if thise will be the result.
/Zep Hey Zep, As you can see, there are many people who've already posted replys stating they want us to build a vendor system and I'm sure there are some more folks like yourself who don't want us to do so. This often is the conundrum at Linden Lab. The previous vendor project that Xstreet was working on was halted. We don't have a replacement in the works at the moment. Down the road, we will definitely be examining this area and hole in our offering, but I can not say what we'll develop to fix it. It could very well be a set of tools to better enable in-world vendors. When we get around to scoping out this project, we'll examine what is feasible and solicit feedback from our merchants. Thanks for your input --Colossus

I'm sad to see this happen as linden labs cannot even get the second life platform to run or there own web site half the time, this is a sad sad day for the merchants of these two services, if you can do anything right, please keep our vendors at least, I have months of work into mine as I'm sure others do as well, I'm sure all that will be toast as well just like every other loss we have endured in the past 3 years.

seriously, i am sick to my stomach. ll will not be able to help themselves, they will bork slx and make it nearly incompatible with paypal, unstable, and it will become overrun by thieves and scammers.
RIP slx.
onrez has a GOLDEN opportunity to make up lost ground. i hope they dont squander it.

From: RobbyRacoon Olmstead Does this mean that my previously convenient ability to cash in using SLX and send the money to my PayPal account within minutes will now take a week or more like Second Life's currency exchange?
I sincerely hope not.
. This is also something I am interested in too..... I have never cashed out any money to this point....... I believe Linden requires a cashout of $5000 USD to send a check...... While Xstreet has a reasonable fee of i believe $5.00 to send a check..... I don't want to use paypal to cash out my earnings for an exhorbinant paypal fee.....it is the reason I no longer accept paypal payments on ebay........ Will this Xstreet policy remain in place under Linden Labs or will we be forced to cash out $5000 USD by check if we don't want to pay paypal fees?

From: Johnnny Blackheart How does this affect XStreet's better linden exchange rate? Thats part of the reason they are buying it out to skim more of our cash.. ie there wont be a better rate now.. but Apez is still around..

No offense, but the PayPal fee is only $1.00 , no matter how much you transfer over to PayPal. Then spending that money is no different then using the PayPal card like you would any other credit card. Torrin

Can you please integrate the OnRez item listing and editing interface into the XSL site? It's sooo much quicker and friendlier to use than the one on XSL, which means less time and frustration for merchants listing products.
What about our OnRez vendors? They work great.

From: T Linden Thanks for the quick feedback, good and bad. We're here to listen and to learn.
@Zep and other vendor creators Our goal is to create a great marketplace to enable Resident businesses. We succeed when you succeed. So it's not our intent to compete with you at all.
Thanks T. I also read Apotheus's post on Xstreet about the cancelation of that product. But didnt find before i had written the first post. GOOD to hear. /Zep

Monopolistic behaviour... taking over competing businesses whilst not fixing your own.
Lemme make a few predictions... Any search functions will be soon replaced by a bidding system similar to inworld classifieds.. pay higher for better placement..leading to much conning of customers by using keywords that are nothing to do with product, and domination of ads by large bidders. The formerly 24hr response time of support..will be replaced by LL current 12-14 day wait for ticket support... any complicated ARs will simply be ignored. Exchange rates will be synchronised (Xstreets was better) and withdrawals will be downgraded to LL's standard wait times and rules. Dubious items, such as prim copiers which clearly violate LL TOS will be allowed to remain as they are in-world. (At least Apotheus understood the ethical boundaries these scripts clearly cross)
There was absolutely no reason for LL to buy these businesses except to retain monopoly control of sales in SL. They could have developed their own website (competition is healthy)...they could have purchased one business (competition is healthy)..they could have used the time spent doing this deal to fix their own system/improve service/improve support/etc etc No valid reason...except MONOPOLISTIC BEHAVIOUR...and... where there is a monopoly it WILL be abused.
I challenge LL to openly state their reason for purchasing two competing websites and don't give us any crap about "protecting the children" or "fraud/misuse" excuses.
