And, for your information, I have posted in forums and message board groups for about 10 years now...that hardly qualifies me for 'noob' status. Every hear the old adage about ASSUME...well, guess what? You did it! Congratulations!! What is there to understand? Everyone agrees LL enforces their rules in a capricious and arbitrary manner. The are lousy communicators, and their customer service leaves much to be desired. Your friend was inconvenienced. he didn't lose his account, any money or his inventory. Move on with your Second Life. Maybe even spend more time in your First Life. Put away the crying towels and pitchforks. _____________________

What does it matter if he was nice to puppies and visited his grandmother every day? His name was in violation. Period. Some one reported him or a newbie Linden saw it and later asked for clarification from her boss. However it happened, his name was in violation so it was changed. Why is it such drama? They won't change name by request, only by AR. And you have to remember, Linden policy depends on which Linden you talk to and the time of day. If you doubt this, search for a gambling thread. Yes, so the story to be learned here is that if you want to change your name, have someone AR your name. Someone please inform Trout that he might be able to change his last name. Make sure the person AR'ing it is hot and bothered about Recreant and what it actually means. _____________________

Get together with all your friends, buy some sims and you can elect yourselves until doomsday. The rest of us are capable of taking care of ourselves. It ocurred to me that if you all could do me the favor of AR'ing "Recreant" as being personally and mortally offensive, I might be forced by the Lindens to change it to one of the other available last names - maybe one that doesn't make me cringe every time I type it. Pretend "Recreant" means something filthy in your native language. I promise to promptly and full comply with any request from LL that I pick a new last name.
