That sounds like Route 80 where I live. One time in traffic court, *just a spectator* the judge himself admitted that he did 75 in a 65 zone and felt like he was in the slow lane. The guy on the stand was clocked at 95.

If you ever contest a ticket - make sure you toss the cops and former cops off the jury, ok? Especially if they were former traffic officers.

I served on a jury with one former police officer (traffic) and one former military police (traffic). And yes, it really did matter. Like when it came up about radar guns, and gauging the speed of the police car and how over time you need to have your speedometer fixed as it flutuates . . etc. And the way the traffic cops reacted in the jury room. sheesh. Open and shut case. The guy had some "I saw a gun and I was panicy and racing away" story. The cops pointed out there was no defense under the statute in question. So guitly. There was a wide margin in fine, though, so . . . wait, where is my million dollar book deal?

Spend a few minutes researching the laws. I had two tickets thrown out because the clerk assigned a court date 5 days past the legal limit. I pleaded not guilty and was by statute supposed to have a trial date within 42 days. The clerk set a date 47 days later. A letter to the judge demanding a legal date got me a letter dismissing all charges.

As a long time friend of Ivanerection Oh, it pains me to see that they would pick on him after all the good he has done in SL. He is a man of his word and helps all that comes to him with open arms. His name has been in the wide open for all to see all this time and has built a big reputaion for honor and as well has a following for his DJing. For him to have to change his name Im sure has cost him not only time and trouble but also loss of people who follow his music. I dont see how one person would have the right (especialy being new) to do this to a very much loved member of SL. I agree with a former writer that states all the X rated things that go on in SL should be shut down before you find a problem with a persons name. I think your morals are a bit turned upsidedown.

I am ok with this name change, it is as some have pointed out, what i wanted long ago. Yes, it was a stupid choice on my part in the beginning but it started as a joke, albeit a bad one in some eyes. My wonderful friends who have come to my support are invaluable to me and perhaps if you, who do not know me, gave me a chance you may also think i am an ok guy.
We all do agree that as customers, paying tier, membership fees ect, that this could and should have been handled in a much better method but hey its the Lindens and they get to do what they wish.

As usual Ivan your character (as in the real life personal one) comes thru to the end. You have the good judgement to handle the critcisms and snarky comments with grace. Now maybe others can see why you are so well loved in SL. This was an interesting discussion and I appreciate being able to see all the points of view that have been expressed. That's what makes SL such a fascinating place...the diversity is endless. Thanks again to all our friends who made an unpleasant experience more tolerable by expressing their support. I do not understand. There appears to be a disconnect from the first part of your message and your second part.

Oh, and tip 2: you can use strong language on 3rd party website forums (I am specifically thinking of one SL related 3rd party forum, SLUniverse.com, when I mention a forum allowed to use strong language), but they, being the Lindens, appear to frown on that on their forums. PG forums.
