You have been slacking on your stalking lately mister.:(

Hey, I did sneak up to you as a puppy, morph into a human and trick you into dancing with me at a party! And then I couldn't drag you off later for a horse ride, so I could stalk you across 9 sims. :(

What lock? This is the Wild West.

Hmm never thought of that. I absolutely despise random people who call me hun, sweetie etc.. Unless you are a close friend or we are poseball hopping of course....:o
The only people I've heard use "hon" in RL are either female or the unlikeliest transsexuals I can imagine. This may be a regional thing... I live in Houston, it's probably not near so common in Boston.

Thanks, and yes, I kind of understand that, but it's a suthern thang ;)
OK, I'm not crazy. :)

Are you reading something more into this than there actually is Angel? There doesn't appear to be any overt value judgment made in any of the posts thus far of whether cross-gender rp is a good *or* a bad thing, merely indicating what evidence might reveal the act prematurely.
And 15% of SL is taking notes, so keep it up.

You're not crazy....it's very definitely regional.

Incidentally, I *never* say hun. I say hon. Short for Honey. Or honey. But it's hon. Hun is just wrong, on so many levels.

I was thrilled to see you spell it properly.

Yes keep it up. In these hard economic times I guess your business's can take the 15% loss in sales.

There's a very easy way to tell if you are dealing with a RL guy behind a female AV. After getting to know them for awhile, if they refuse to get on the mic or webcam (We all have mics and/or webcams).... GUY (99.9% of the time.)

I don't have a mic or webcam. Nobodies business what I look or sound like. That's reserved for RL.

EDIT: I'm female. But this could go for either sex playing the opposite sex.

I don't, and if someone demands I go on voice I just leave.

Whether my avatar's male, neuter, revenant, or gleisner. *

Some of us just don't do voice, we don't want to do voice, we don't even want that chunk of Vivox code in our computers.

* Oh, google for it.

has anyone ever been accused of being a man because you build in SL?

i was going over some designs with a club owner and showing some samples of bars and stages and some art which i had made..

His SL girl friend had shown up..So i Said hello to her and it was nice to meet her and she did the same..

i continued to show samples and ideas for this club..

then i get an IM from the man saying ..she is trying to make me believe you are a man because woman cannot build like that..

i replied..Just tell her i don't pick up the prims.. I just lay out the plans where they go and have my strong men friends come in to set them in place for me :p

he laughed and said she probably thinks you are after me..

i replied ..omg she has me pegged lol

Exactly. Occasionally I will go on voice if I am with a group of people on voice. I hardly talk though, just listen. I don't care for voice at all.(I don't care for the phone much either...) I prefer to type.

I've been told that someone thought I was female because I didn't make enough typos, or because I stood too close to them and "interacted", whatever that means. I was in one of Uchi Desmoulin's rather bishi avatars at the time, which may have helped. :)

I was told someone might be a guy is they don't change there clothes often.
I looked around and yes, my wife change somethings 3 times a day, and other known females have a different outfit almost everytime I see them.
Me, I change once a quarter after my wife nags me.

Hey there Argent, I didn't know you were in Houston as well.

/me whispers "I don't want to say this to loud, but the weather is beautiful here today isn't it?"

I would agree that the use of the word "hon" is most likely a regional thing. In the southern U.S.. although it is used by both genders, female, older, with a rural background is the most sommon user of the word.

I can't even stand being the same species as long as that.

Edit: I tend to associate clothes with species, because it's so damn hard to get an outfit that looks good both on a 4' ferret and a 6' zombie.

Edit: it's easier to get an outfit that looks good on a zombie. :(

Edit: not to mention that there's just not that many good casual outfits for guys in SL. :(

/me looks around. Fluorescent lights. Cubicles. It's always a nice day here. Let me see if I can find someone who's got a webcam and an outside window...

I'm a shapeshifter, so I can go through periods where I morph every ten minutes. But when I am human, I tend to use the same shape, skin, eyes, hair, and clothing. I got a great looking vest at Christmas time, so my normal shirt changed. Then I finally got a new outfit yesterday. I just realized that I wasn't changing my human look/clothing, much.

more than half the fun of having so many clothes is mixing and matching to make more outfits..
it has to be done!!! :D

I'm always a bit suspicious when someone calls me some cute little feminine pet name like "Hun" right off the bat.

Most females I know don't do this. Or at least, not the ones I'm friendly with but a lot of men I know do. One of those little things they can't seem to discard, a little bit of chauvenism which creeps through.

I really wondered about that "Hun" bit but thought maybe is was a southern US expression?

It always surprises me when a female avi calls me that when we first meet.
