Do I have to wear freebies or are L$1 items good enough? Orange freebie hair will be near impossible to find and I can't get the right shade with the sliders. I can get the right color for L$1 at ETD if they ever open again.

I can get the right color for L$1 at ETD if they ever open again. I wonder if Lucrezia's Newbie kit is allowed? It has some great stuff, along with notecards for finding good newbie items... Don't forget camping...newbies camp, right? Good enough to get a few $L's...and SLExchange and OnRez have great freebie / $1L items available...I'm willing to bet you'd find some good orange hair, without having to spend a horrific amount of time camping. Not that I'm thinking of doing any of this with an alt or anything...not me... _____________________

I didn't reject Ann. I failed to respond to her partnership proposal in a timely manner and LL rejected her. If I snuff her out, do I get all her stuff? So not only could you not be bothered to answer the proposal, now you want to kill me? o.O _____________________

Gosh they're still not open?..will the madness ever end??? She posted this on her blog on Monday: I do plan on reopening this weekend, hopefully with more new releases. I may not be finished re-packaging every hairstyle like I plan to, but regardless my goal is to reopen this upcoming weekend. So on that note, keep an eye out for that. http://blog.elikatiramisu.com/2008/02/new_releases_and_info.html _____________________

I made a comment in the first few comments to this thread which was tongue in cheek but at the same time I hoped ppl would see the double standard. not too long ago I was accused of trying to advertise when I posted about a shirt I made with the 503 error, just because it had my logo on it, and was even told to put it in the products area (as I mentioned then I got a few im's about it) anywho... my point is.... this should actually have been put in the events section, just like any other event. just because it is for the forum cartel doesn't mean it has any more right to be posted here as it does anywhere else. If ppl on the forums want to know about events for the cartel badly enough, they will either join the group, or they will go to the hangout and look for notices there. why should those of us who are not interested in going, be subjected to the thread, anymore than folks who would not be interested in going to xyz event be subjected to that thread. with the argument of "it is for all the ppl who post on the forums" then anyone can come here, post an event and say it is for all the forum folks.... right? if we are going to try to self moderate, then please make it so everyone self moderates for example, I have the arcade, it has been mentioned a couple times by a forum regular, if I decided to have a party there, and call it an event, and post it here to the forums, and say it is a party for all the forum folks, would that be acceptable? (no answer required, just think about this whole picture please) I guess this behavior has been bugging me lately too, just did not realize how much till I saw just how this thread was so totally accepted just because it is for all the folks on the forum.... (when we all know it is for those who regularly go there) I seriously thought these forums would be different than many others on the net, due to the fact that we are all supposed to be adults. some days I feel like I am back in high school, which is why I come here less and less I wonder how many others feel the same way I do and are afraid to speak up, for fear of being attacked or flamed from all sides.... Funny how when confronted they quickly try to change the topic in the thread to silly, pointless banter and move the spot light off their acts of entitlement/double standard actions. Especially when a serious topic is trying to be hashed out. Certainly speaks for it self and their lack of any real defense on their part. Sad really and shows why we need a unbiased moderator ASAP. _____________________

it`s the "Ignore if True" clause in the self appointed manual I thought it was more ignore the trolls, but then I may be mistaken. _____________________

I wonder how many others feel the same way I do and are afraid to speak up, for fear of being attacked or flamed from all sides.... I feel the same way you do Rhaorth and have to agree with you, Strauss and Alicia on this. I still enjoy reading the RA forums as useful info is posted here and the occasional chuckle. However, when I've gone to the Forum Cartel Hangout, in general I've felt largely ignored, and I consider myself a generally friendly, outgoing person. (Case in point - won the Halloween Trivia contest and not one person said peep to me. Not looking for pats on the back but gah!) /puts on flame retardant clothing _____________________

I find it unrelentingly friendly in there at all times, no matter who's around. _____________________

Quite funny how things can look so different for some people, then it looks for me.
In SL I am quite anti-social I guess, as I spend most of my time on my building platform. Once in a while I drop by in the forum hangout, and never fail to have a good time there. Maybe it is because I have no expectations in general when I drop in there, its always fun. And wether a newbie or a regular drops in, I see the people who are present, be friendly and if needed helpful to them. As for Claire (and the others involved in the party), do not let the reactions of a few put you down in any way. The Forum Hangout is a place that originated from this forum, and is ment for each and every forum reader. Or even non-forum readers, as I never saw anyone at the door checking wether you could name a forum topic It's forum members who are contributing tier, items, time and lindens. And no it is not a wicked way of some priviliged members to push their creation! For those failing to see that, tough luck. Wether it is envy, or something else, I dont know and quite frankly don't care. Neither should you ![]() Well, you know you can use my furniture if needed to decorate the parcel for the party! Probably will not be present myself though, since I already mentioned to be anti-social ![]() Have fun, Marcel _____________________

Just wondering if some kind person would be able to send me an invite to the group when they get a chance.. ![]() The group is open enrolement. just search for the forum cartel... ![]() Thanks Marcel you reminded me...I am sending out another call for kind donations. We have a lot of land to fill, and we need seating, couple dances, danceballs/floors/lights.... Whatever you think may be groovy. It doesnt have to be transfer, we are not going to steal it from you lol. Just let us know if there is something you can leave at the venue maybe overnight - until someone returns it or until you pick it up. I think it would be best if it is set for someone to be able to move it too. I think we are going for the ecclectic look...but i am not certain. Please let one of us know. Stormy is going to be decorating, and she needs to know what she has to work with ![]() The land will start to be decorated from the 1st i think. So if you could drop an IM or notecard on me, Stormy or my alt Chandra, it would be fabby. Thankyou groovy people! ![]() PS. I may be sending out a notice this week for the group members. If you arent part of the inworld group, lemme know so I can keep you posted _____________________

this is sort of basic common sense, but i will say this anyway...
when i go to the hangout, everyone says hi. i usually then take a seat. but from that point on, if i don't involve mysef in the conversation, no one else involves me. it's my responsibility to jump in. i don't take it personal, it's just a fact of life that if you don't put yourself out there, no one is going to notice you. why is it my job to involve you in my conversation? you need to just jump in. besides, everyone likes it better if you involve your own self. how do we know what you want to talk about? take a chance. you'll be much better received for being friendly than for being snobby by standing quietly in the corner. my 2 cents. _____________________

I agree 3ring. I have seen many people come there, recieve a warm greeting and sit down for an hour and not say a word. Then I have seen some of these same people come to the forum and talk about how un-friendly we were.
I can only ask a stranger how they are doing so many times before I look like a nutcase. Give me something to work with and I will gladly talk to anyone. I have never seen anyone discouraged from joining in on the conversations there. |
