Alt Party!!!!

Finally!

I have managed to sort almost everything out for the party. I wanted to go all out for it as it is my first attempt at organising one - please be nice to me lol.

Rioko has kindly offered to lend her land for the party. It is a wonderful 4096 plot and is beautifully low lag lol. She is even going to clear the land for us! Thankyou very much Rioko. You're a star!

Also, We have a theme. I think it was Brann who originally suggested it. The party will be based on newbiness. There were some concerns over having to buy outfits for alts, but everyone has noob outfits i am sure! So newbie clothes or freebies please. This is optional though, so if you want to get dressed up, feel free! I will be kitted out in full newbie gear.

I have asked Bigdog Bikcin to DJ. He has agreed, and I think his mix of music is perfect for our dysfunctional little family I am still working out exactly what times he will be DJing, so if you fancy having a go for an hour or two, let me know and I will see if I can swing it for you.

The party is on the 7th March. Starting at 12pm and going on until who knows when. I wanted to do a party at europe friendly times, hopefully this time will help to cross both timezones. 12pm SLT is about 8pm UK time (GMT). Make your own conversions for your own timezone.

There will be a contest of 'Guess the Main'. This is a contest where everyone who wants to compete will add their main's name to a board or something (still working on this bit), and everyone will submit a notecard matching the main to the alt. The one who gets the least correct guesses (i.e. noone matches them up) wins the prize money. The prize will be donated by whoever wants to add to the fund.
There is a rule though. You are not allowed to turn up with a blank profile and not say anything. If you do this, you will not be able to enter the competition - sorry, but it is unfair on the other contestants.
I will post more details about the competition.....as soon as I figure it out lol

Finally, since we have a 4096m space to decorate, anyone willing to lend danceballs or seating etc is very welcome to do so. It is going to be an outdoor party, so any garden-like items (pagodas, benches, hottubs lol) would be cool.Let me know if you have anything you wish to offer.

I will send out a group notice soon which will have the LMs.

Well I will keep this thread updated for those who aren't part of the group. And anyone who wants a LM just needs to let me know closer to the time.
You don't *have* to come as an alt Sally. Anyone is welcome, even mains. I may make an appearance as my alt, but I will be there mostly as Claire. I know there are people who dont use alts and that is fine. I just want everyone to have a good time.
It is just a chance for people who have alts to show them off.

Whee! I am delighted this is happening! (So is my alt.) Three cheers to Stormy and Claire! If I recall correctly, it was an exchange between Stormy and myself that planted the seed for this - so please forgive me for beaming proudly!

I would normally have both my laptops running at the same time in order to have my alt there, but one of them is currently keeping my sister from throwing a tantrum about her computer being broken, so i have to suffer for it - all of my photo attempts are on that one - I am going to be so behind in my photo editing lol.

Just right click on the shortcut to SL and choose properties. Then add -multiple to the command(labled target on my machine) line.

The target should look like this:

"C:\Program Files\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate\SecondLifeReleaseCandidate.exe" -multiple

so no mental programming skills required? cool! lol. it will prolly cripple my puter lol.

Glad to hear that BigDog agreed to do the party! He works at Summertimes Blues for me and does an awesome job! Ya'll tip him really well, ya hear?

He is really is great!(I work with him,lol) make sure you all give your alts some money to tip the DJ. I keep my alt broke all the time.

So excited you picked a time/date I think I can actually be there on! I have Fridays off and although it is a bit late in the afternoon for me (RL stuff starts calling around that time of day usually), I should manage to be able to show up if I rearrange things a bit - not that you'll know who I am anyway I do have one alt that nobody has seen or knows anything about! And even better, the Alt still hasn't been decked out in anything better than newb gear. In fact I was " box shopping" just yesterday lol!
