GraphicGuru: Not to defend Strauss, but I don't think he was talking about Claire when he called a cartel manager an arseclown. He was talking about one of the actual cartel managers. There's four, Chris, Brenda, Oryx and me. He seems to think all of us except maybe Brenda are arseclowns, so take your pick, but you were there for the incident that I think he was referring to. I'm not going to rehash that argument here, though, as this clearly isn't the place for it.

Now, the reason I said anything about the thread, is because it just doesn't technically belong in the RA part of the forums
it doesn't matter if it is for the forum cartel, the cartel doesn't get any special treatment just because it is the cartel

everyone should be following the same rules, yet some things seem to be accepted more than others.

I am not pissed at anyone, nor am I ripping any throats out. If I was pissed, believe me, ppl would know it.

I just feel that it is wrong to have posts about parties in this specific part of the forum. That is no different than any other place posting about a party at their own places. (a club, a hangout, a bar, hell a gym, it doesn't matter, it is all the same, a party, not a question)

Doesn't this forum have specific rules for posting?

I feel if it were a thread about a party anywhere else, not directly pertaining to the cartel, then it would have been a much worse outcry of it being in the wrong place.

I do not understand why most of the folks here find it so hard to understand....

Why don't we just not read it? For the same reason that folks post to threads that ppl put up for advertising their wares.

Whoops? Really? Dang. I had no idea. See how seriously I take my manager duties? Actually, the only reason Oryx and I have the title are because we were the coordinators of the project-which-must-not-be-named (or people with advertising in their sigs will get a lot of advertising by posting over and over how evil we are for advertising). We maintain the titles because it gives us the ability to return items, build and fix things that get messed up, and kick people who are being arseclowns off the property; an ability we rarely, if ever use. Oryx should have on at least one occasion. I never have, and I think Chris kicked some griefers off who were putting out particle spammers. We have a no tolerance policy towards millions of pictures of Bill Cosby flipping the bird.

I've used my grand power to put music url's onto the many many parcels (I think 3) that lacked said url's. I was quite annoyed by that lack of music. Of course no one has to listen to said music unless they turn on their music.

I also returned those boxes that were sitting out in the yard sale area for months (this was before autoreturn was turned on).

It did inspire me to put that undersa snorkling place in. Not sure if anyone ever visits it, though.

I like the music on the parcels, especially down on the dock. It's nice sitting out there listening to the music and sorting inventory.

I didn't know about the snorkeling place, but I'll check it out the next time I'm there!

i have all sound off in my SL experience. i turned it on once to dance at the cartel, but that didn't last long either. i find it distracting.

i much prefer environmental sounds to music. just my 2 cents.

I totally agree with the above...HOWEVER...this is not the case when I have been to the hangout. (And I do want to say this is not a broadbrush on every person there...I have met and chatted with some lovely people, but the freeze out is "in general."

Please don't assume I arrive, sit down and say nothing. Quite the opposite.

the curse of the 10-words-or-less approach often sounds harsh. but i live in reality and don't mince words. plus, i've been nothing short of grumpy for the last few weeks. that's no ones fault here, so i'll try harder not to be so intolerant of so much naivity.
