Well, even if I had too, I'm not Catholic. I don't believe the Pope has a right to dictate to me from "the chair". St. Peter's chair or whatever it is...? I am a protestant. Our higher commonly understood authority is what the Bible says not what the Pope says, plus the laws of the land we currently abide in.

Yes Catholics are Christians. You might have misunderstood me. We believe Christ died for us, but our theologies are vastly different. Most Catholics prefer to be called Catholics rather than Christians, only some want to be called Christians.

I wanted to add something else. Catholics and Lutherans and perhaps others see marriage as a 'sacrament' while most or all other Protestants do not. We see it as "God said a man most leave his Father and Mother and cleave unto his wife." Wife has always meant woman, with breasts and the whole shebang. A sacrament is something else and not part of my life nor do I even want to judge what a sacrament is or isn't.

It's rape if the woman says no, regardless of marital status, and regardless of the type of penetration.

Well no, a marriage is not a legal marriage until it is consummated.

Also, a marriage in some states of the United States can be dissolved and one party can file for divorce if one partner refuses to continue their marital duties of sexual intercourse.

Say no, not tonight honey is okay in a marriage. But not for the whole length of the marriage. No, it's not okay to say no forever. One can file for divorce on those grounds.

I can see this as a legal complication for heterosexuals because some men use anal intercourse as a means of birth control and so some heterosexual men would jump at the chance of having that legalized unto them within a marriage. Now sure some heterosexual couples may want to engage in it and already are, however a marriage cannot be dissolved because no anal intercourse occurred in our present laws. Yet if you say all types of intercourse are consummating a marriage, then that's what would logically be for heterosexual couples too as well as whats taught in schools.

I don't believe in Catholicism, i.e., the Pope having the sole right to dictate the meaning of a scripture or add in scripture that was and is never there to the Bible among many other things that Protestants disagree with the Vatican on; however, I respect Catholicism as a truly valid long established religion and protected under the First Amendment, as I do Protestantism.

I think I just read that the state of Florida banned same sex unions? Now, I personally believe that is wrong as I see same sex unionizing as a secular thing and not infringing upon any established religion or free exercise thereof?
