And really, if we're truthful with ourselves, we all have things that trigger that sort of reaction. The problem, I think, comes when you actually accept and act on it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am who and what I am. I make no apologies for it, and ask for no special "acceptance" of me by anyone. Accept me as I am or not; makes no nevermind to me. I am not who and what I am for anyone else but me. To be otherwise would be to live someone else's life, someone else's dreams. "Temet nosce", or "Know Thyself"; 'To thine own self be true", to put it simply.

It's also not a requirement to like me (quite a few don't ), but those who want to like me can most definitely find something to like.

In fact when someone called me the "bad ann" of nekoness the other day I definitly took it as a compliment. Though I in no way think I'm in your league of neko fashion and style.

To me, everyone could potentially be considered "dinner". Well, except other Dragons, in most cases. Oh, and robots... don't care for the "Enriched Iron" diet too much. :-/

Everybody has a reason for picking the avatar or avatars they use.

Me, I just never liked the human avatars at first... there are plenty of nice ones out there. But when I was trying to find one I liked it was the husky I found that I felt the best connection with.

Each of my avatars fits with my personality, some are the playful side (husky, horse) and others are the darker sides of it (crow, combat robot).

To many animals are a good bit more honest with themselves and others. Plus there is still that totemic aspect for many. Some just like the looks or community. Plus to be honest for the most part furs tend to be far more open minded than many (but still got the jerks amongst us).

Wow, that can be applied to RL as a way to not like all kinds of different people.

I try to accept all avatars I come across in SL without discounting anyone because of what they look like.

Oh I am well aware I am in the class of only one of the top types of predators around, though funnily enough not much else seems to like eating vampires...

Depends on the type of vampire, but some of the magical regenerating kinds can be a rather satisfying meal, or so I hear... *chuckle*.

Though, for some reason, vampires and Dragons tend to be mutually exclusive, so that's not generally a worry.

sometimes I find it hard to put into words the thoughts I have

let me try again....

I do not discount anyone based on how they look. people are all people under it all

however I do take into consideration that the way they look has some insight into what they like to do in SL , their interests etc

based on that, I will determine if it is worth my time and theirs to try to strike up a friendship

I do not understand neko's, furries, kids, animals, half humans, gors, etc... and the ones I have met, seemed to have the same types of likes depending on what type they were....

and their interests were not the same as mine, and time was wasted (and most of the times personalities clashed, especially with nekos, not sure why, just did)

so based on my past experience I choose... CHOOSE to not associate with people that in my opinion, again, based on my past experience, will most likely not have anything in common with me, nor me them....

I am not much of a social person in SL, and for me that works. I do chatter on some groups, but do not actually see myself hanging out with the folks other than in the group chat.

If that makes me prejudiced, then so be it

(last I knew, we all had the freedom to choose whether we wish to associate with someone or not, and personally I don't think it is anyone's business why I choose to not associate with someone, however I put it out here because I am not gonna hide behind the monitor and play like I do not pre judge people)
because to some extent we all do... each and everyone one of us, has preconceived notions about the others around us, based on how they look, act, talk, type, etc.

like it or not.. it is who I am...

and I agree, I am not here to make ppl like me, I used to care if folks liked me or not, but not anymore, life is too short to worry about those who do not like me, I would much rather spend my time enjoying the time with those who do like me and do care

Oh, well all cats are cute imo. And I get jealous of my girl cat cuz she always looks cute without having to use mascara, lipgloss, push up bras, hair straigteners or bed hair products. Oh that list could be endless of what us females put ourselves thru in rl, but my girl kitty simply always looks cute. It's frustrating.

Indeed there is much variety on both sides, though I disagree about the mutually exclusive part. I have a dragon form (variation of the bat form) and I used to roleplay in City of Lost Angels and be quite friendly with a faction member who was a dragon. Those were good times
We would both go around eating people, such fun
