I have a pretty avi I'm told, I see far way more accomplished avis all the time, so I don't know.
My avie is mine, I'm not going to make myself ugly to keep peoples off me.
99% of the time it's just funny or odd when peoples do.
I'm usually polite, keep doing whatever I am doing, if they persist or attachments "pop out" ...
I tell them I am going to report them for harassment and check out the land settings where I am, "Bye!"
I have a couple of times in a mood drug on a monster avatar,
like a fav were and stand there snarling, lurching about.
Ya don't have to be in a WA to get hit on, I've been hit on by ppls IMing me some w/! partners, in stores, in classes and visiting ppls homes.

I actually did get compliments on my avi a few times-but those were in IM, and really just innocent compliments, not being hit on at all.

That's the beauty of screenwriting...or fiction. You don't have to actually design the nuts, bolts, and thumbscrews. Just leave it up to the reader's imagination.

Actually, what I had in mind while writing that little scene was something like The Machine in "The Princess Bride", crossed with a rack and an Iron Maiden.

but the only thing I have a problem with (maybe some1 can help me with it), is that if I am flying up around 200-300m...and if i just hover there, I tend to just float up and up and up. I have to detach my mysti tools and put my freebie flight band thingo on instead. Anyone else notice that.


On topic -

Some newbie "boy next door" type gave me 5L for looking hot on the dance floor. I gave him 10L in return, didnt want to waste his hard earned camping money.

Thanks Mari. I just bought a Mysti-tool. It has several features that, frankly, I hope I shall NEVER have a reason to use. (The offensive weapons, many of which are an AR'able offense to use outside a full combat sim). But it has many others that look quite useful!

Actually Lindal you are on to something here... two of my female friends, both very attractive and they both hang out in the same places, one gets hit on a lot and the other doesn't. They both dress very sexily but with different styles. The result seems to be that one just 'looks' more available and the other more unattainable...

I have the same issue, I usually just keep my freebie flight feather on and turn the flight assist on the mystitool off. That might be better than having to detach the tool. Theres probably a better way to adjust mysti's flight assist, I just don't know it

This last Halloween I picked up a great little toy.. if you wear it and someone bumps into you, your av falls over dead and a pool of blood forms around your head. That might be a way to deal with those guys that like to get really close to you. If it is a copy enabled toy I'll be glad to pass it along to anyone who wants one...

I also have an anim that starts kicking and hitting every person that bumps into you, complete with sound and blood effects. I love to use that in areas where impolite people run into me all the time. that at least makes them apologise....and it doesnt need any permissions...

So, what I'm learning from this thread is that when I walk up to random women whom I do not know, and ask them if they want to swim upriver, spawn and die, that it might not be welcome 100% of the time?

That can't be. I'm going to try it this evening. I'll go approach women and someone here needs to tag along behind me and do a little "exit interview". That way it will be all scientific and everything.

I was kidding when I wrote that in response to Hate...but I do think some people (not just the ladies) do project a "keep off" vibe. It's not just clothes...I've seen it in characters in several styles of dress. It's not gender...I've seen it in men and women. One poster in this thread noted that he seems to give off a "gay vibe" and gets hit on a lot by other guys.

Some of the ladies have this, this...electronic perfume or something...a lot of top escorts have a definite "you want me, dontcha?" air about them.

Now, all this sort of thing happens all the time in RL. What puzzles me is, how on earth do we manage to project these sorts of attitudes through our screens and keyboards and pixelated avatars? It can't possibly be pheromones.

If I knew the answer to this, I'd've won that contest and be $L250 richer tonight.
