How do you girls ...

... cope with being made a pass on every 30 seconds if you happen to be more attractive than a wardrobe stand?

It always amazes me how male avs (especially those of the "no shirt and built like a prize fighter" faction) are drawn in like moths to a light and are seemingly unable to just leave a girl in peace.

Sometimes I wander the world and check out interesting places in the form of a cute girl (because I enjoy seeing her in the scenery). The frequent passes and IMs are sometimes witty, but quite often blatant and annoying.

BTW, normally it helps telling them that this girl has a beard and other un-girly appendages in RL to dampen the interest (but not always).

So I'm curious: What do you girls do if being constantly hit upon is getting on your nerve. Transform into an "Ugly Aunt Betha" shape? Use a male av? Just go DnD?

Yeah it can get pretty boring after a (very short) while. Don't mind compliments, but the blatant offers of intimate moments of the adult variety I can do without. It used to annoy me, now I have a message in my profile saying no thanks to come ons and such. Seems to help.

To be honest I usually only go to places I know with people I know and always have a male friend with me if my partner is not inworld. Is a sad fact of sl life, but having a minder has become a necessity specially when going to for example free sex areas that also have malls I am looking at as a potential new business outlet. i also do get hit on by women, but at least they have a conversation with you rather than just trying to pinch your bits or making their first question do you want to have sex with me. It is this very sort of problem that has made me spend more and more time shut away in my skybox working.

Just like I do in RL. I politely diffuse it, if they persist, they get ignored, muted, and/or kicked in the nuts.

If the approach has any wit, or charm, I will reply politely that I am partnered and not interested, but thanks for the compliment.

If the approach is clumsy, boring or rude, I either ignore them or tell them to look in my profile where it is quite clear I am not available.

It doesn't happen that often because I no longer frequent the places where its likely, but when I did, it could be a pain, but it goes with the territory of having a fairly attractive avatar, and you get used to it. If you let it wind you up, you are in for a tougher time.

Depending on my mood, I tend towards ignoring them or going dragon.. then they are too busy oohing and awing about the dragon to think of the once pretty girl inside. It gets even better when I slap on a pair of pants and shirt, while taking off the dragon parts. The resulting avatar is.. less than desirable at any time!

But now, like Imogen, I tend to not frequent those places anymore.

But as to the OP, the only way to cope is take it with a sense of humor and tell them to look elsewhere. I've found that pointing out that you have a partner (if you do) is hardly a deterent either. When bothered by the persistent, can't-take-a-hint-types, usually a toss across the grid works wonders not that I've done that to anyone *cough cough*

The best way I found about mens hormons is to "partner" my best friend (a girl) and with that at least half of the harrasing men leave me alone ...

There certainly is, I think it's part of Abraminations couples pack. How do I know? Well, a close (but platonic) female friend IM'd me and asked if I'd mind helping her try out some new couples animations. As to the OP, you just have to keep a sense of humour. Most are OK with a 'no' and go on their merry way. The insistent ones are told yes fine but it'll cost you L5k. Which it doesn't. By the way. Before anyone asks. And if anyone's a real pain I just TP out.

I just completely ignore advances. Worst are the ones who offer friendship before even saying anything, those get declined right away.
