I don't let anyone but good friends or my Family call me 'dear', and the only persons I call 'dear' are my girls. No exceptions that I can think of... I call my partner 'Hon' or by her name... so yeah.. thats it

I didn't see it as a "men are cads" thread. More of a "how do you deal with cads?" Along with a lot of "how can I attract MORE cads?" Er, I mean, "men".

Sure was a popular topic for a Monday, though. Poor Bilbo is still way back in the thread, struggling to catch up.

Try putting a good male skin on, esp one with facial hair. Ever seen how those look on a cute female shape! erk! Plus it's easy to revert back when you're done laughing.

I know this from adopting a female form to adjust jewelry I've made. Gad do I make an ugly chick!

In all seriousness, I don't know how women stand it. I'm not hanging out in the right places to get approached by women, I guess, but if I were a female, it would drive me to distraction, especially the way guys do it.

Maybe I'm furniture as well. Only I'm closer to a refrigerator than a hatrack. Maybe an overstuffed sofa.

I agree Lindal, this is not a "men are cads" bashing thread, this is a highly informative and educational thread about social interactions between the different sexes in the universe.

And obviously one can't walk away from this thread for too long, or it takes an major sprint reading effort to catch up again. Wow this thing has taken off......

Thank-you! That is what he kept calling me! Dear. I felt like his little old aunt for some reason and he didn't mean that.

We stand it because even though a lot of you are annoying, enough of you are funny, and sweet enough to make it worth it.

It all depends. Like most here if they are polite I just point out that I am married but thank you for the compliment.. If they persist, I point out that I am married to another woman, faithful, and not interested in men .. I then try to ignore them and walk away.. For the really rude and persistent ones I have several game plans..

1. Tell them they are rude a##holes and their approach is pathetic. Sometimes get really nasty and talk about their obvious "shortcomings", body odor, personality, grooming, etc.

2. If they just won't stop and I am in a bitchy mood.. I say "Ok fine, lets get this over with".. Then invite them to this lovely little combat area I know about.. Then cage, burn and orbit the burning body.. They normally get the hint..

3. Some respond to the "I am not interested in men" with a "Well then I will become a woman!" Whereupon I pull out my Katana and tell them to whip it out so I can cut it off to start their "conversion".. I normally get the "Man hating biatch!" and they leave.

4.Once I was in a really strange mood and told this rather persistent fool.. "ok lets do it!" I dropped a "doggy style" set of poses down, put on my strap on and then....

/me takes out a tube of Ky and rubs it on the d**ldo... "Ok lets go, this won't hurt too much".... He TP'd out so fast he left skid marks.

I am not man hating by the way, I like men in general, just not as partners.. I just don't suffer fools very well.. I spent too many years in WOW and other places I guess.. I have a rather violent streak now days. *laughs*

I have also on occasion had some be genuinely apologetic about being “rude”, and those I have often given advice on how to better approach women if they are really interested in having a date.

It is interesting when I actually go looking for compliments, or at least some idea of what people might think of the shape I created, and I get nothing. Guess I didn't do a good job creating

I have never been hit on in SL but I intentionally wear avatars that aren't sexual.
Yet when I was in my flower boy avatar stage I did have someone ask me if I ever got hit on by Pedophiles and they made sort creepy sexual remark assuming everyone in SL is into Pixel sex.
I am guy I would never approach anyone in SL for sex. Not all of us are into sexual objectify pixels be it female or male pixels.

Lexxi - I saw the shape you created when we were in world together that evening. Lindal and I even walked over right next to you so we could get a better feel for how your height stacked up to ours - it was a taller female shape. We talked about it quite a bit. I really liked it, and comented that it really fit the way you were dressed that evening. You crashed a couple times, so maybe you missed the comments, but Lindal and I both gave you pretty positive input on it.

I'm happy to say, there are many like you.

As for Dear/Hon/Hun/Babe/Sweety/MuttonChops and the like, although I can't say it "bothers" me, I'm always a little surprised and even a little uncomfortable when a stranger uses these terms. Unless you are over 90 yrs old, use my name, it's right there, above my head. I never say anything because I assume it's cultural and they mean no harm but...Ugh! (I click on there profile and usually they're 15 yrs my junior LOL)

Oh dang. I did miss the comments. Stupid crashing. I am not normally {snip} vain {snip} but as it was a shape I had created, I was interested in reactions.
