Any "police force" that isn't Linden Labs is a vigilante by default. I wasn't judging it so much as describing it.

and yes, i have witnessed, not in game, but video's of children being used and abused...there is plenty written, and psychiatrist have plenty of work with the adults who did survive the abuse. i have seen many documentaries and i am well read, well informed...

as a police officer, u will not have the pleasure of telling me to get off your land, i will only be in places assigned...if i was to see your name, i would ask to be taken off case...so if u were being griefed, and u dont own an island to get a linden like the old days, and i am the only officer on duty, u just denied yourself help...for i wont take a chance on a revenge plan, and i would not know the difference.

u r wrong about being out of my abilty to accomplish...at this point in time, this is considered role play, but we have linden laisons, and we can prove ourselves worthy of serving this, our online community...

I'm sorry, I wouldn't normally say this, as it has been a tetchy subject but capitalisation and paragraphs are your FRIENDS. You have gotten better with the paragraphs, but the no capital situation makes it impossible to read, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I'm not being nasty, or anal, but honestly, I read the first few lines and got a migraine. No use in posting if noone can read what you are saying.

On topic though, most self appointed 'police officers' are asses, and so I don't trust ANY of them. If they want to help, why not just apply to be a Second Life mentor? No time for these power hungry wannabe cops.

i think it is good idea for citizens to take care of many things, LL is overloaded...if we had one police to every criminal, we can make change...

mari, out of curiosity, do u also play these games of youth in flesh world? i am curious, as i do so...i play tea party and dress up, marbles and pick up sticks...hoola hoops are not something which cuz of my disabity, that i can do, but i will do it again someday....

i find the fountain of youth, to be within the person, and being childlike, does aide...i will skip stones, lay on rooftop gazing at stars, climb trees, and do all the things with the great grandchildren i have done with the previous generations...when i am well enough...

i will never let the child in me leave, even at old age, i will perhaps not have body to run and jump and play, but i will have the memories to feed me the energy which doing these things give...i am not sure about game...focus for me is not on the fun side, tho, being a workaholic, and invalid, do clash, so game has satisfied...

but i wish lindens have more time to fix things...helping put together ppl, to take some of the loads off, is worth the efforts...

i am not high ranked, nor do i choose to be.
all i want is to give my best to keep this world alive, but criminals are set on destruction...
and other pd's do like the role play, and enjoy the weapons...which brings point in mind...nudity in profile is against the rules...yet snapshots of weapons are not...i figure at the time of setting rules, it was not thought for the weapons to be able to do damages which effect the grid...

as always, it is the criminal who makes the rules needed...
common sense and proper respect for each other in any world, if followed by all, we would not be in such a state of chaos, and fear, and tragedies...

Well, I don't have anything to say about inworld crime. All I can speak to is the confusion that other groups calling themselves "Police" have caused before. For example, there was this thread from someone confused as to who a "Police" group that walked into his club were:

See what I mean? The title "police" confuses people. The Lindens have volunteers that they work with, and in many ways if you want to help SL it might be better to simply volunteer. The Liasons you're working with would, I'm sure, be glad to talk about that.

Whatever you decide to do, it is clear that your intentions are good and you want to protect second life and its residents.

i am human, and i also make mistakes..if i see, or am shown, i will do what i can to atone...i also have faults as well...

i wallowed around a bit, thinking there was nothing i could do...but then with care from my ranking officer, she taught me many things, among them, to not feel useless since i couldnt find solution, but to take it a bit at a time, giving me ability to sit and smell the roses...

i am also humane...and would never speak to another in griefing that i have received here...i dont have to wonder much as to why it is acceptable to oppose my services...but then again, so many are superficial, and have not found themselves, nor matured, do to the fears in life, which are realities, proven realities.

i like the abilities in game, i like that i meet ppl from all over the world, and besides the horrors which are sorrowful, i want to be in this world...i want to see it progress...i want to help where there is need...i dont want to see another parents face, with the loss of thier child, always wondering if they are alive, if they have been murdered...so these in opposition of my dedication, before u open your rude mouths, go visit a parent, or go on web and visit a parent...and think if u had a child, what would be going thru your mind...if they were one of the children who disappear...
i guess the key word here is compassion...i have not seen any nuts with compassion...life is too short not to care, not to participate...the compassion u give, does return to u...for instance, this disease is rough, and i have fears, and constant pain...so i get down sometimes, and pick myself back up, and in game, lots of times a friend can tell, and so picks me up...makes me laugh...
one time in particular, i was feeling sorry for myself...i got busy inworld, so as to not let it weigh me down...i was making a drum set...and i wanted drum sticks for anyone to take, and play...but up to then, i had only found drumsticks with no perms..
i needed copy and transfer. so i found some drum sticks, and im'd the creator, asking what i could do to get them with copy and transfer, something which is not done often...i explained i had no intention nor ever would, to sell them, and she gave me the drumsticks...as we got to talking, turns out she has an incurable form of cancer, and she had young children, with no one to trust to leave them with, u know something...it was after this chat, i could no longer feel sorry for myself...and if i feel myself slipping, i know time has passed, and she is promoted to glory by now...but i feel what i felt that evening...and it kicks self pity right out of me...i think about the children, to have to live without a mother, and i think about how she felt right to the end...no one she liked well enough to leave her children with, or no one to accept the responsibility...
our behaviors, our feelings, have a way of coming back to us...how we treat another, how we respond to a plea for help, all these things, they do come back...sometimes u get worse than u gave...
so give me all the nuts, i find them interesting...lol

no end to this story, we have been working with Linden laisons...we have shown them intent, and order, and we were told they are impressed...other things as well, but i dont know if i have permission to share these things...

i intend to do my part to take a load off of the Linden's, so they are not stuck with all this babysitting...
when it used to be that if u had a problem, u im'd and a Linden came out...
ppl bitched and moaned about them only helping those who own islands...fact probably is, there is not enough Linden's to do all the work, and the babysitting must have really been a bummer, no wonder some escape to the teen grid...i find more maturity in teens than in many of the adults i have met...
in fact, i would say, many teens had viewed my first commentary, they would have said, how can i help...and they would have shown respect for my opinion, and not cause a bickering...this bickering, is rediculous...neighbors saying i dont like your house, after someone has worked hard to learn to build...instead of positive they get negative remarks...what is wrong here???why do ppl behave this way...goodness is not a weakness...hey pick on me all u want, for the time u take to pick and show off, is time another is left in peace...and some cannot take it, but i can take it...u know why? because i know values and truth and honor and integrity...integrity...oh i always liked that word, and the completeness it gives in attainment...

Well I guess I could say I'm Queen of Second Life, and that the Linden's were impressed, but sorry, don't believe you. This thread will just fade into oblivion like the rest of these 'police' threads, and I stick to banning anyone who claims to be any sort of enforcer rather than an official one. Honestly, I'd say more, but I don't want to get insulting. I will say this though, it's pretty funny that someone thinks they can do a psychological assessment, but spells it as 'psycholical'. i kept 4. average...i am intellegent, and i know the difference between proper, slang and jive.
i write, if u can't tell, i write with ease, and lots...usually i have an editor, but he never has to correct my english...i choose to write slang and jive here, for first glance to know it is something which i am not going to use...easier to see the differents...caps dont work...ppl find irritation...oh, btw, Not picking on you, but using as example, if you want perfection, you must give perfection.

Nothing to worry, Dr. gives me 98% chance of survival of transplant and recovery...though, it sure is not easy to suffer...I have a year at the most now, to get at top of list...fifteen thousand livers are needed each year, with only five thousand donated.
This means the worse get liver first...I take care of myself, and all but liver, am in good health...not counting the symptoms of the disease itself...
It is hard not working, i am a workaholic...but game helps satisfy this most times, and keeps me in rested state, as without game, i would be cleaning...i really do enjoy cleaning...

Who in their right mind would give abilties to suspend or ban people in second life to so-called police groups, anti-griefer groups or anybody else for that matter.

You elect to enter second life, you elect, if your a premium account holder to pay for the privaledge of owning land and business.

There are elements in second life that are a pain, but no more so than what u find in real life.

Its Linden Labs platform, they are the ones who dispense justice, and rightly so.

Nobody forces you to log in to second life, you elect to do that.

Assigned by Whom?You have no authority to go on someone's land unless they allow you.And IF the highly unlikely event that a sanctioned police unit were formed, and you were to refuse an assignment becuase you don't like someone, then you aren't much of a Police Officer. It's laudable that you want to make SL a better place, and you are free to help those that want it. But most of us are capable of taking care of ourselves.

now u must realize, many years have passed since school days...
i also explained the disease so u would understand, i have temporary cognitive skill disabilities, due to the toxins the liver normally filters, and the kidneys and skin take over some, but the liver is the main organ which makes our bodies work...these toxins go thru blood stream now...i am in later stage of disease.

u may want to check to see if u have an attention disorder...this causes migraines, as well as not being able to completely understand or focus for long enough to gather,rather than pick and choose words which stick out...which catch your attention for whatever odd reason.

it bothers me i cannot spell like i used to, i will write the word two or three times, and it does not look right still...but at least, dont have to fish thru pages in a book, with small writing, web makes it easy.

my mother majored in english, so she was a stickler...
