SL Sex, Lies, and Mind Games

Everyone sees what they want to see. Those who seek sex, lies, and mind games will find exactly that. SL is a virtual world where people come to enjoy what they seek. Personally, I came to find friendships, creativity, and the chance to see replicas of parts of the world I'll never see otherwise. I'm really sorry for those of you who can't seem to find anything but the bad side of everything.

Hmm. In'trestin'. Truth? I'll lie through my teeth if it improves my chances of success and survival in the raggedy-jasper of reality, so I guess its the same here. I tell fundamental truths since they work for me - my career, my private life is known to Hal to a great extent. It doesnt seem to bother him about what I do cos he's secure in his own self also. So, we're two realistic avs in that sense.
Yes truth adds much fuel to the dramatics. In real it IS the dramatics, innit? My reality is drama and upset and never a same day twice so that translates well to here.
I am incredibly dramatic (I hope!) in sl because I am anyway in real. I can't be what I am not - my fundamental character in rl is drama oriented.
It is odd to me that there are people come here declaring their aversion to drama when they can have a pretty drama filled hour or two here to lift their spirits from the boring pugwash and glazed-doughnut-face of their own realities.
Drama is dispised by most people but its what I been doing since I was two. And its paid off for me.

To me his actions speak more of self destruction stemming from an overwhelming pace.

With all due respect, I did not come to SL to experience sex, lies, and mind games but that is a large part of what SL is. Remember, it is a commercial venture. It appeals to the innate human desire to be recognized and yet remain anonymous. To lie is human, to lie without consequence is liberating.

BDSM, Lesbianism, sexualized images permeate the virtual landscape. SL is predominantly a man's world. It is pure fantasy meant to satisfy the profound and the perverse. I have found exactly what you have found, friendship and incredible creativity. I am not saying that anything is "bad" here, just commenting and observing, sharing what I think, knowing that there is no truth in opinions...

This seems to me a rather odd statement, on a number of levels. Where exactly are you going in SL that this seems to be the case? And I'm not sure I understand the inclusion of "lesbianism" in your mini catalogue here: are you referring to a sort of male-fantasy pornographic version of lesbianism? There IS a really vibrant LGBT culture in SL, but the kind of "lesbianism" associated with that is about identity, and not really about "sex" at all.

As for SL being a "man's world," I disagree, except insofar as it reflects, and maybe sometimes accentuates, the gender biases that are already at work in RL.

I disagree Melita. Tiger's actions speak to his mind. He is weak of mind. He chose to not control his sexual urges even if it meant ruining his name, destroying his marriage, betraying the woman that gave him children. And for what? A few hours with a vagina. It is remarkable that anyone in this world can become a billionaire by playing golf and it is sad that "the world's greatest golfer" cannot be devoted to his wife and children or have the self-respect to elevate himself above the banality of our canine ancestors. I was under the impression that truth doesn't matter. Regardless, I think Scylla, like many people, misunderstand the difference between gender bias and gender confusion. Perhaps I am stuck on a fantastic ferris wheel and all I can see is the imaginary landscape beneath me, unpeopled and colorless. What would SL be like if the electricity grid ceased to exist? Would the human condition be irrevocably altered?
