I would hardly call those people Illustrious. Uncle Fester posted a picture of his gonads, and Mulch's porn thread...wow  Some pigs DO have good lives.
I've been approved, and you make it sound like I'll fit in nicely there :)

Just to sum up, these are the alternative forums that I know of and have visited. If I've missed any, please copy this list and add to it. Or PM me and I'll update it.

The forums are in no particular order.

If you are looking for a new home, I suggest you go have a look around and see which one(s) you find congenial. You can put your toe in the water and still come running back here. (At least until the neutron bomb falls.)

This post made me sad because it made me realize that not everyone will be migrating to one place. Reality is setting in that we will be dividing up and going off to other places and this specific group of characters will have lost this particular community.

That sentiment belongs in the "Something we all agree on" thread. I don't think anyone would disagree.

Actually all it does is increase the time on forums as you go on a circuit to read stuff. This is because more threads are being posted. For instance I bet there is a lawsuit thread in every one of those forums all with many similar viewpoints and all with the same players defending their personal agendas.

I think that Ray's point is not that he will lose track of individuals, but rather that the particular "chemistry" -- the "culture" -- of this forum will be lost.

I know. I'll miss the old neighborhood, too.

I'm pretty sure I'll only be at one, but there will be other people who'll frequent more than one forum and carry the news between them.

This happens already between this forum and SLU.

I don't need to know everything, and I don't have an axe to grind. I just want to be a part of a community where I can be myself. I want a forum that feels like home, and one's enough for me.

I'm sure you're in a different category. Not opposite, but you're active in ways that I'm not.

I won't be doing a circuit. I tried to add Second Citizen to my list and just found it to be too much to keep track of. Perhaps once this one gets frozen I will jump between SLU and SC.

As I've stated before..SLU will be my only forum home for now. I have my Blog, my shop and now an inworld group, so that should keep me busy. It's been a hell of a ride. When I came here in Jan 07, this place was dead, still reeling from the purge of 06. There were a couple of snarky characters, Ray and Colette especially, whose made me laugh and stick around, and then some of the other personalities began to emerge. Chris , Zap, Ann L, and a bunch of others, and a little thing got going. Besides the fun, a lot of truly helpful and knowledgeable people began visiting RA regularly, and despite LL's disdain , it became a Community. Dysfunctional, but still a Community.

Chris and I started The Forum Cartel as a way to bring that inworld, and even though it isn't without drama, and in spite of my own misgivings as it grew, I think it has become a wonderful thing. Hopefully it has helped people find what they want in SL. Again, it has it's moments, but I am immensely proud to have had a hand in it's birth and of the job the current ownership has done.

I've invested a lot of me in these forums, until fairly recently I could say they were more important to me than SL itself. I think they have been treated inexcusably by The Lab and they should be ashamed of themselves, especially considering many of it's residents are among SL's most loyal supporters. To that I give LL a big, Fuck You. Best of luck with your new Blogorum. I will not be visiting it.

I've enjoyed every minute I've spent here, have been informed, challenged, humored, angered, and entertained. I thank every single one of you, from Amara to Zaphod and everyone in between. I hope to see you inworld or at whatever venue that we may meet in. :) Happy travels to you all. *flowers*

Hi Raymond!

Exactly what I was talking about! Ask a question and get a good response here.

That's not what happened to me. I was attacked teen clique style by their regulars. Seems if they can't relate to your situation there's grounds for chastisement unprovoked.

I am very happy to have deleted the bookmark to their boards and good riddance.

Besides the ones who could help you there are here too.
