Why do men pay for sl sex when there're so many orgy rooms?

Oh, I couldn't disagree more. It is an implied generalization. If you really don't mean that, then try better wording. And perhaps apologize for managing to offend. You can start with Colette.
Colette asked for it, as she often does.

It really doesn't matter whether you disagree or not. It's plain english. They are words that have meanings. It's not my fault if you choose to infer something different to what the words actually mean. If I meant the women as a whole believe something, I would have said it, but I didn't. I really don't see what's to be offended about. If I say I've seen it a lot, I've seen it a lot. End of story. If it doesn't fit you personally, what's to be offended about? I can't help what you infer, or what you misunderstand. If you just stuck to the words that are written it would help.

Read the OP again ..

Its barely literate. I think some allowances should be made.

It sounds more like someone who is tired of being passed over by guys she likes because they are buying it from escorts.

Possibly because they want cyber-sex that is more coherent.

Although really, I think the main reason people pay for cyber-sex is it ensures there will be no strings attached.

SORRY. really. i didn't say "SOME men", but that's what i meant. didn't mean to offend anyone. it was curiosity; really wasn't trying to attack the male gender in any way.

{[about my post being barely literate: You try writing a post in MY language, bitch! see how literate urs is gonna turn out to be. <grin> ]}

about what u guys r talking about: i have to agree. women r not sought after when they don't have any upgrades. i'm still pretty new, but when i looked like a newbie I was basically shocked how hard it was to find somebody to even jump on a ball wiht u even in an orgy room.
u have to basically learn to talk dirty to guys to make them stick around for more than 2 min. not what we're used to in rl. the only way out is to make yourself look like a slutty $2 hooker. then they surround u like flies and u can be the picky bitch for a change. and the only way to have sex outside an orgy room and actually pick up people is to be good at talking. i think every woman in sl either learns it or leaves sl. when u're with somebody who's being all silent then they're probably bored and don't feel like it at the moment. all u have to do is turn them on and they'll give it back. my theory. :D

I never said your opinion was clumsy.

Just the way you appear to be presenting it.

I could be wrong and you *meant* to sound like a jerk. In which case, I apologize for saying your post was clumsy.

And instead I'll just call you a jerk.

Up to you, doesn't bother me either way.
It never does bother you Colette. You just enjoy dishing it out, as someone else put it, whenever you see an opportunity.

Both your posts were hard to read. If its because you don't initially speak English then that makes perfect sense.

Whether or not I am a bitch doesn't change how hard the posts were to read. I simply felt that some allowances should be made based on how you had posted.

I do not know what language is yours, but I highly doubt I could be literate at all in it.

That is simply not true.

As I said in a previous post -

Proportionally you have made far more personal attacks in your posting history than I ever have.

You have claimed in the past to be technical, do the math. There is no way in hell I could come close to the percentage of attacking posts you have put together.

There were two ways to deal with a misunderstanding because of a poor choice of words. You chose the less useful one.

Look, I looked up "many" in the dictionary:

From: someone

1. constituting or forming a large number; numerous: many people.
2. noting each one of a large number (usually fol. by a or an): For many a day it rained.
–noun 3. a large or considerable number of persons or things: A good many of the beggars were blind.
4. the many, the greater part of humankind.
–pronoun 5. many persons or things: Many of the beggars were blind. Many were unable to attend.

So while it doesn't necessarily imply the majority, it does imply a great number.

But then you look at "perhaps most", it reasonably suggests that you are considering it possible that there's a majority.

So either you mean to suggest that, or your wording was clumsy and open to mis-intepretation (like much of the English language).

Why am I even wasting my time with this? It's not like you'll ever concede anything, to anyone.

While instead you misread her intentions and used it as an excuse to be "offended"

The OP's question is offensive, because it appears to assume something about men that isn't true. Men do NOT pay for sex, either in SL or in RL. SOME men and women do, but that's all.

Not the greatest advert for your business Phil, your name will be memorable to me for the wrong reasons unfortunately. I don't think I will be making a visit any time soon.

Now I have had my Phil of this thread - time to move on to better subjects to discuss I think.

And here I thought Colette was trying to make you look like less of a jerk, by saying essentially - Phil's views aren't as harsh and judgmental as he's making them sound, he just hasn't expressed himself clearly.

When in fact, you appear to have intended to sound like a jerk. :/ Please see my post and other's above questioning why having different sexual tastes from your own is sad.
If being normal, and not finding animated drawing sexually attractive, is being a jerk, then I'm happy to be a jerk. We jerks are only interested in the person at the keyboard - we don't get it on with drawings. But some people who have expressed opinions here seem to fancy drawings. It takes all kinds, I suppose.

I'm sorry, did you read the posts I referred to you above before answering? There are centuries of precedent of erotic art supporting the idea that it is very "normal" to be sexually aroused by drawings.

It's not the fact that you personally are categorically not aroused by pictures that makes me think you sound like a jerk Phil - it's the fact that you judge so harshly people who are turned on by different things from you. Sheesh.

Oh I don't think so. I make odd ones when riled by someone, but you do it as normal - quite a lot. Take your initial comment about the OP's post, for instance. "Barely literate" just wasn't called for, but such insults are normal with you.

Lilly -

I mean this in all sincerity. Good luck in meeting men who appreciate you for you and aren't interested in hiring SL hookers.

Quite a few people have expressed similar feelings of frustration with men and their interests in escorts over the years on these forums.

There's sexual attraction...then there's lube..your'e never supposed to be attracted to the lube! SL is the mind lube for online sexual attraction.

Meeting people online..typing out ideas and becoming attracted to a person because of their mind certainly can't be considered sick.

The OP had asked a question concerning people being attracted to certain scenarios.((paying for virtual sex vs. free orgy rooms))Meeting real people online..typing out ideas and becoming attracted to a scenario is very normal.

Everything else is lube.

The pixels...the cartoons..enviroment..its all lube..it helps to facilitate the afore mentioned natural normal attractions. :)

Why am I reminded of people standing up and declaring that it's sick or wrong to be attracted to the same sex, or that it's wrong to have sex with the lights on?

if nobody is getting hurt, why is it so necessary for some to judge and publicly attack what others enjoy?

generally people say something is wrong when they don't understand it.I don't think anyone said they were attracted to lube here..or wanted to have sex with it. :p

But I do concede things when I've been mistaken. I've done that a number of times in this forum. But I'm not mistaken about this. It's clear from what I wrote that I didn't mean the majority of women, although I did allow the possibility that it could be a majority, as you rightly pointed out. I think the words were very clear, and not clumsy in any way. I also think that some people misunderstood them initially, and that other people jumped on that misunderstanding, without going back to see what it was really about.

I *do* find females in SL who think that men want to shag them just because they are female. And I've found enough to believe that many of them are like that - perhaps even most of them. They think too highly of themselves. I don't see anything that anyone could find objectionable, or be personally offended with, about that statement.

Phil has shown no more than... he has no imagination. He is attracted to females solely on what they look like and little else, and he can can find no attraction to females unless he can see what they look like....

and he calls other people sad.... wow

he also think the word "many" means "minority..."

You were insulting to her, Colette, and it was totally uncalled for. You are very good at that. As you say, you were accurate in understanding her meaning, but you are mistaken that I used it as an excuse to be offended. I misunderstood her meaning, and that was a *reason* for me to be offended - not an excuse.
