From: Nika Talaj In my view, all these people can be officers only if they agree to wear rip-away state trooper outfits whenever at the hangout, with rights for all forum members to tug at will. It's only fair compensation for the world-shaking power that we're giving them! How would you like to be a personal advisor to the Queen?

From: Ava Glasgow What is the actual name? And would the one of you who has it wrong please go back and edit your post to correct it ASAP? /me is having visions of some unsavory person setting up an alt with the other name, then running off with some of our money. Wow, good eyes Ava! Sorry about that. Yes, Nika's right; it's CartelTrustAccount Mumfuzz. I just went back and edited my post. Thanks!

I propose the officers make the land purchase decision. Having everyone go check them out and then commenting on the land and then offering other options will result in Forum Hangout IV - XX. I can't see that it really matters what the view is or what the land is like as long as we can hang out there. I trust the officers will get the nicest location at the best price. Besides, we know the landscape could change overnight.

Besides, we know the landscape could change overnight. We had already come to the same conclusion. Great minds... One new development I wanted to go public with is our scouting trip today showed us that something closer to 6000 meters is going to be better for us. 4096 can cramp up believe it or not and we have the tier and L$ to go to 6000m. plus a lot in reserve even past that. This added land will not result in a spread out hangout. It will still be a very centralized build designed for community interaction and not an airplane hanger or a small sprawling town. But going to 6000 gives us a buffer from our neighbors, the assurance that we will always have all the prims we need and the flexibility for nice perimeter landscaping or gardens. Lastly, this will give us proper room for a treehouse for our favorite lil one.

I am still waiting to be billed for my tier for this month. I assume tomorrow, because it hasn't happened yet today, and today is my billing date. When that happens, I will be by with 512m for the group.

I like a lot of open space around, especially as so many things/places in SL just feel really cramped. With a good amount of outdoor space, we can have a really neat treehouse as well as room for a fun combo swingset/playset. (Even though most of us have adult AVs, many of us still like to play like/with kids sometimes. )

i am making something really fun, and if it works out (meaning, doesn't bomb), it might be a nice feature. we'll have to wait and see what the theme ends up being.

I also like this. I was once at an auction held on a sim where only 1/3 of it had been built up, and there was a vast expanse of just plain ... open. Maybe a well or a solitary tree or a covered bridge, but mostly it was just open ground.
It felt downright luxurious, and was strangely one of the most comfortable places I'd ever been in within Second Life, just because it wasn't all cluttered with content.

I would like to contribute in some form. Perhaps one of those in the know could look at what has already been contributed and suggest some things which are still lacking and need contribution?
P.S. Would love a group invite...

From: Raymond Figtree Just did a cursory check of mainland 4096 plots for sale. The is a startling amount of land in our price range on low lag attractive sims with nary a spinning ad in sight. We are in great shape for when we are ready to buy. Did you see Tigerclaw sim? that looks good..just what you suggest Raymond.

From: Brenda Connolly I think there is an opening for a group owner.... *saw the notice in her email and mutters about the cause of this* This sort of thing doesnt need to happen before even land is purchased, for pity sake. If jokes are misunderstood to the point of people being upset, I am going to be in big trouble I dont wanna know the details, I just hope that all is ok and being taken care of. No one should step down from positions they are already in...as far as I can see we have a great team working on this!

Having been kind of busy laying tarmac 'n' stuff like that lately can someone bring me up to speed on this one (thus saving me reading 5 pages worth of fascinating submissions). We're buying property for a forum hangout ? How much do you need and who and how do we pay..? Kind of a summary of all that's gone before..coz it sounds like a great idea and count me in..I think!!

We are buying 6000 meters of mainland for a forum hangout. Buying the land next week. Have enough in tier donations and $L to pay for the land plus landscaping, furniture, dance balls etc. But anyone is welcome to donate any time, talents, tier or $L to the cause. Or just show up once we're up and running and contribute witty banter.

From: Raymond Figtree Or just show up once we're up and running and contribute witty banter. Our banter has to be witty? Oh my, the pressure. I didn't know this was going to be such a stressful place. Will I be able to get by just mentioning pie or panties now and again?

Will I be able to get by just mentioning pie or panties now and again? You can also mention penguins (it was approved inworld as banter fodder tonight by a vote of 7-2).
