I've been lurking but I wanted to come in and catch up...

First, thanks to Elora for coming to my show opening last Thursday! It was *very* laggy, unfortunately, but turnout and sales were great anyway. (Show is up until Feb 4th if you missed it or just wanted to wait until the lagfest was over.)

I have a bunch of alts, including two males, although most of them never see the SLight of day. Anuhea used to log in frequently, and has a somewhat different personality. She was created, originally, because I thought I'd need an alt to be able to work on creating things undisturbed. Because I love Hawaii and lived there as a kid, I made her Polynesian. I mentioned her to a friend, whose ears perked up because he finds Polynesian women attractive. Before I knew it, she was dating him and *I* became the avi creating things (and that has since changed as well).

I don't feel uncomfortable in my male alts, although one of them just logs in to help me line up cuddle poses. I trotted out the other male a few times and was surprised to find myself responding to the world a little differently.

I agree with Lindal about the potential for abuse. I was a victim of someone who used an alt to spy, so I have rules about alts not interacting with people I know unless they know it's me (the occasional "guess whose alt" party excepted). Several of my mothballed alts exist only because a friend and I were having fun making up punny names once when a new set of surnames was released.

Just shows how useful and well-rounded this thing has become.

Now when you search for "llama porn", this thread comes up first. OK, I'm assuming it does. So there's another carefully drawn check mark on The List.

Regarding "alt abuse", well, anything can be abused. As with everything else, it's about the person behind the keyboard and their intentions. I don't see anything inherently wrong about a person having a bunch of alts, personally.
