It's the Inca Temple. I did feel a little sorry for the woman. She probably thought it would be fun and help the businesses, and just for that she gets to hear me complain.

I wonder why men seem to have little problem having female alts, but women dislike having male alts so much? At least that's how it seems to look from my seat.

I've tried to make a male alt... well, I *did* but I never use it. It was SO MUCH WORK to get a decent shape, skin, and -- above all -- clothes, and forget about the hair. It literally gave me a headache, and I had prepared by scouring these forums for tips, so I wasn't casting about in the darkness. I also asked some guys who looked good where they went, but oh my god...

It was so much work to make him and seems too much work to be him. And then, interacting with people? Ooof! Too hard, way too hard. Everything is an effort.

And he always looked dorky to me.

I do have a few alts, and my initial intent was to separate off stuff that I didn't want to associate with my main account. The first one I made to work at the Pearl, but she turned out to be too young (you have to be at least a month old), so I ended up having to go there myself, and this cute little girl became my refuge from IMs when I wanted inimate moments with a friend.

Now I feel her very differently than me (Key). When I log in as her I immediately feel sunnier, lighter, and freer. She doesn't have all the connections and complexities that go with Key's life.

I made another to be a bad girl, but her explorations eventually ended up with her being a slave girl in Gor. So she has a rather developed life, manners, connections, commitments, problems...

The thing is, Key got a pretty full life almost right away, and I want to keep it together; not run off afternoons in another shape and skin, carrying the same friends list with me.

With the alts I get to live a couple of second lives in VERY different ways.

But they aren't throwaways: I put myself into each life.

So, last night I got a bit annoyed at SL borking my inventory so I couldn't work on taking lots of piccies, which is what I normally do when bored on SL.
I went to a beach place I used to love sitting at, but unfortunately, the whole place seems to have been flattened

Then I noticed that the water looked nice with the sunset, reminded me of some fabulous SL piccies. Gave me an idea to try messing with filters again. I came up with this:

I figure that if I can fine tune the filters, and maybe mess with the environment settings a bit, I might be able to have some great fun hehe.

Claire!!! What a fabulous picture!! I swear that looks like an RL picture of you at the beach. Phenomenal. Well done. And you look wonderful!!

Good morning dear ones!

This weekend was quite good, other than some drama as some of us are aware.

Was in NYC with Ghosty as I mentioned prior to see Oryx. Went to Mari's art opening and bought two pieces (new house finally has wall space to display artwork). Was at Roisan Hotalings art opening as well, purchased one of hers lovely works too (beautiful real life photography she brings inworld).

I am glad you got to see Oryx!! How wonderful. Thanks for the reminders about seeing Mari's and Roisin's art work.

Puttered around a bit with G getting ready for his art opening (I guess this was an artistic weekend), went to CX's party which turned into Maureens party, and hung out at the Hangout which I hadn't done in ages. In general, was somewhat more social than I have been in ages, which felt pretty good!

I was glad to see you! CX was supposed to be racing one of his VWs this weekend, so he wasn't going to be around (nor was Allie). He asked if I would hold the fort for them in their absence, and I said, sure.

Got there...only to discover that I am not a part of their new group

so I could not change the stream for Syn to be able to do her DJing. So...Syn, Cody and I chatted for a bit, Cody showed us his cool Orca boat, and then we had the idea to just move the Sunday gathering to my beach.

I was glad some folks came along! It was a nice way to end the weekend.

Yes, things were crazy in SL this weekend. Bought a bathtub this weekend, and it showed in my inventory, but when I tried to rez it, I got that message "item not in database.." grrr. But! I wrote to the store owner, and I sent her back the "bad" item, and she sent me a new one.

Now it's back to the work grind. Forgot my office keys this morning but luckily my next door neighbor has a set so I was able to get in. That's what you get for having too many pocketbooks to choose from and changing them over the weekend

It works right now... the alts have smaller, more circumscribed lives, and I'm pretty regular at being them.

The thing is... sometimes it gets to me. It can be too much. SL can get SO intense... too many feelings.

A guy I've known for a few weeks has started romancing me, and I had to say, "My life is so complicated now... I don't think I can do this..." and I thought about making a notecard for him, listing all the stuff me and my alts are up to, so he'd know it wasn't personal.

I suppose someone might boot you from the sim if they knew you were using it, but it doesn't 'talk' in open chat, so there's really no way for them to know unless you admit it.

I only use mine when I'm getting really frustrated...I generally enjoy hunts, but some participants are evil hiders and some hunts *cough*Peace on Earth*cough* just go on for far too long.
