Before I get ready for work... I've been on that stupid Gorwide Grid Hunt and hit a wall. I've gotten eleven thingies so far, but cannot find the microscopic flower in this huge honking store, which is not just huge, but has high ceilings and three floors and a moon on a chain that you can go inside (the moon, not the chain).

I spent three hours in that place.

Then I saw a note about the starting point... being NOT where the fabfree note said, but somewhere else, so I went to look there, just for a change...

ARGH!

The info note said that one should IM a certain person if you had trouble finding the flower in a particular store, so I did...

I have to admit, the note didn't say she would help. So... she happened to be online, listened to me whine, then said, "Don't know where it is, hun."

Me: "Is it impossibly small, like the others?"

She: "dk"

I know I'll go back, I just wanted to complain a bit.

Just my thoughts, but I'm tired of these "Guess who I am? " alt games, when it involves coming into a group of people you know as someone else yet won't own up to it. it isn't funny, it's just childish and annoying. I really wish something would be done about the unlimited alt situation.

Hear Hear to that. I've just said as much to someone else. I'm paranoid enough as it is!

THREE HOURS???

/me rubs your shoulders

I have to admit...hearing from everyone how difficult it's been to find those little blooms has convinced me not to attempt this hunt.

I heard this on the drive to work this morning...

a guy stole a car... (I forget where this happened)

...while driving around, he spotted a convenience store and decided he was a little thirsty

...upon exiting the store with his super big gulp...he is shocked when his stolen car...has been re-stolen!

...he marches back into the store and has the clerk call the cops

...who, after questioning arrest our knucklehead

...the kicker...the thief who stole the car from our first thief...was the original owner of the car!

THREE HOURS???

yes, well, I realized AFTERWARD that that was how long I'd been on.

I think I will give the store one more going-over, and then I'm going to write a note to the shop owner and ask: (1) Is there in fact a talender in the store? and (2) Do I need a microscope to find it?

I'm sorry to everyone for being so obsessed with this stupid thing, but...

This morning as I walked to work, I was fuming to myself about it, and thinking of all the sharp remarks I could say to... somebody! whoever...

Well anyway, I had just gotten to saying, "I hope they release a list of the stores that participated, so I can visit the ones at the END of the list, the ones that are getting f**ked right now..."

... and I stepped off the curb onto a little ball of ice, and twisted my ankle.

Idiot.

That's what I get for being such a fascinating conversationalist.

It hurt so badly that I sat on a step, took my boot off, and massaged the hurt until it went away.

Jeez.

Good morning dear ones!

This weekend was quite good, other than some drama as some of us are aware.

Was in NYC with Ghosty as I mentioned prior to see Oryx. Went to Mari's art opening and bought two pieces (new house finally has wall space to display artwork). Was at Roisan Hotalings art opening as well, purchased one of hers lovely works too (beautiful real life photography she brings inworld).

Puttered around a bit with G getting ready for his art opening (I guess this was an artistic weekend), went to CX's party which turned into Maureens party, and hung out at the Hangout which I hadn't done in ages. In general, was somewhat more social than I have been in ages, which felt pretty good!

Oh and worked on my new Alt, QueenOfCorona Mexicola who I shall unveil at some point here. I like to think of her as the spoiled daughter of some Mexican beer tycoon :D

Oh and the usual TP issues of course. Things sure were buggy this weekend.

Now it's back to the work grind. Forgot my office keys this morning but luckily my next door neighbor has a set so I was able to get in. That's what you get for having too many pocketbooks to choose from and changing them over the weekend :p

awwww I love the cute pictures.

Ann-I love that one....I was trying to make a skirt like that, hasn't worked out yet, but I'm getting there. Stunning, as always.

Sounds like you had a good time at that party Mari, I love those pictures, that hula hoop one reminds me of one I have of my cousin...very nice :)

Jerboa, Can I do a long distance lynch mob? Think it would work from over here?

ick, three hours? Not sure I'd be able to stick it out that long. I haven't even attempted the hunt, and don't think I will now, Hope you find it soon Key. And that your ankle is ok :(

Sounds like you had a good weekend Elora...I get scared to buy artwork, cause I know it'll get lost in my inventory. I did that with one of Ghosty's pieces, it's either in my inventory, or has been swallowed by SL, and I can't for the life of me find it. I'll have to keep looking.

if it is the one I think it was, it is on a bookshelf. Just sitting out in the open. Second floor I think it was. I spent forever over two nights before LittleMe helped. Flower wasn't that small. Wasn't shoved into anything. Out. Long green stem against brownish wood, with . . um . . pink? flower, also against wood.

Not sure about the clothing, but the furniture was neat. Quality looking stuff. Not sure about prim count, might be tad high but not everything has to be 1 or 2 prims.

I admit that a store like that should have it sitting out with a giant arrow pointing to it. Store is just too huge to have one flower in it. Its own hunt, sure, but not one flower on a grid-wide 38 flower hunt.

(edited to add: I will also admit that I didn't really look the first night but instead slide over into a stumper gazing at everything at nothing as Mistress wandered around. Then the next day I looked very closely at the items themselves. Figured I'd find it if I found it. There was one that also had a snowflake hunt. 10 snowflakes. I found the flower without looking, really, for it while looking for the 10 snowflakes.)

So, last night I got a bit annoyed at SL borking my inventory so I couldn't work on taking lots of piccies, which is what I normally do when bored on SL.
I went to a beach place I used to love sitting at, but unfortunately, the whole place seems to have been flattened :(
Then I noticed that the water looked nice with the sunset, reminded me of some fabulous SL piccies. Gave me an idea to try messing with filters again. I came up with this:

I figure that if I can fine tune the filters, and maybe mess with the environment settings a bit, I might be able to have some great fun hehe.

Claire, do you remember which piece you bought? If it's really lost, I'll mention it to him. Perhaps he'll replace it.

It has a glowy sort of flower on the left side of a pretty dark background. I think. If I just knew what it was called, I'd be able to search in my inventory easier.

Ok I knows which one that is. Search for the word "Orchid". Can't remember off hand what the exact name is but that word is in it. If you can't find it let me know and I'll talk to him about replacing it.

EDIT: It may be "Passion Orchid", try that.

Hi Heish/Spadesrun, nice to have an Alt own up to who they are for a change. I don't think anyone was picking on you yesterday - you were playing nice lol. Perhaps you just got caught up in the "other" frey.

Anyway, glad to "see" you back :)

Good to meet ya. :)

@Claire...erm
1. Your pic...impressive! You have such a talent for capturing SL...the pose, the facial expression, color...your pics have the rare depth of being felt as well as seen.
2. Tea?! Ohhh...nom nom nom! *wiskers shake with eagerness at the coming sugar rush*
