From: Tod69 Talamasca Therefore- Build one.  Been running for 2 yrs, no viruses, no spyware (under the true definition), only 2-3 BSOD caused by crappy drivers from some 3rd parties. I keep a nice, fresh XP image around just in case. Keeps ya from having to go through the whole install process. If you're using Firefox, I highly recommend the plug-in "NoScript". Its great! My son tells me to build one also and I may let him do that for me on my next one. I don't feel confident enough in my PC knowledge to do it myself, but primarily because I am not a hardware person. I have no problem with the software aspect - I even have taken my base XP install and slipstreamed in the SP3 patch so that I do not have to wait for that part to download and update on the few times I have had to reload from scratch. I second the recommendation for Firefox NoScript. My husband thinks it is a pain because he quite often has to do extra clicks to see things on web pages, but my computer stays cleaner than his as far as the junk that has to be cleaned off now and then.

No worries, Claire. My experience from 2 boys and 1 girl is that it is the 19 yr-old boys that are mostly not good for much other than eating you out of house and home.... and always wanting money.

I have a few alts, but they only log in to test permissions or that age verification land access crap or to help position pose balls. If I ever took them out on the grid, it would definitely either be with people knowing it is me, or I would not take them any place where Lil has friends.
