From: Burnman Bedlam I don't think you are confused... I think you are missing the point. I can refuse to accept choices someone has made, and simply tolerate them without diminishing anyone's equality. I don't think a person who use child-av's as "less of a person" for doing so. Equality has nothing to do with what I am saying. I find it interesting that you make remarks which seem written in a manner to make me look worse for having my point of view, and then bring up equality. If I have done what your saying I do appologize for it. I dont have the patience Mari has, oh how I wish I did, hehe. After so many years I often over react and I will jus shut up and play in the corner wit my coloring book

From: Toy LaFollette Your confused by my posts, I do not post seeking acceptance, I post seeking equality. Some give it, others dont. It has nothing to do with acceptance. It is apparent to me that some people cannot 'grant' others equality. I know what side Im on. I know of Gor, I have friends there, do I accept Gor? No. Do I treat Goreans as equals? Yes. Am I a furry? No. Do I treat all my furry friends as equals? Yes. Do I accept non-equality by others? No. I do however treat them as equals. Im not confused you see The thing is, equal treatment means _equal_ treatment. If somebody is throwing child avatars off parcels just because they are child avatar, then that's clearly unequal treatment. But on the other hand, if a child is running up to people and saying "are you my mummy?" then that's actually asking for _preferential_ treatment. They're asking others to "buy in" to their role-play. It's just the same as the examples I posted above - they can _ask_ for that if they like, and some people might think it's fun and join in, but there's no obligation, and they certainly have no right to complain if others won't indulge them. _Equal_ treatment means that you can dress up, then meet up with others and talk about SL friends, SL drama, and adult RL - just like everyone else does.

From: Desmond Shang I've been... let's see. 1) Desmond, Victorian land baron and purveyor of antiques. 2) Wabbit Desmond. Brown. Tiny. Fluffy. Still wearing my glasses. I have a tendency to be very rabbitlike when this way, and may watch you from the cover of a patch of flowers, or from under a low bridge. Safer that way. 3) Young Desmond. I like to go skating like this sometimes. Harry Potterish to the extreme, I fear. 4) Neko Desmond. I break out the Wabbit or the Cat Ears for Serious SL Bizness. Lends perspective like few things ever do! 5) Cyberpunk Des. Been ages but you still might catch me in a VNV Nation tee from time to time. 6) Prim babies? Partnering in SL? Ah... no. Sort them all out? Can't. They are all me. VNVNation? Wheeee! I have some t-shirts, too! LOVE them, and have seen them live several times! But you're quite right there, Desmond. I have a tiny, too-black kitty with an ATTITUDE the size of my house (prefers to run around with a mohawk and...Victorian clothing), a furry (cat again), a real cat avatar, and my "normal" avi changes clothes and hairstyle every day but is generally either Dark Geek or Victorian Goth something, often with neko parts. I would miss all of them, because yes, they're all me- and the cat is the only one not wearing glasses... @Mari: I went to see the show on the last day and just had to get the book. It was very moving-that pic of you with the sad look.....it ALSO finally made me go to Robin's store, and now I have a kid avi, too- she's just like me age 11, red hair, glasses, and always plotting mischief! (I put some pics on my Flickr account, too)

From: Marianne McCann Wooooowwww... yer old! Over, an over, an over again! Mari You are 8 now, right? Well everyone is old to you right now. You will learn as you grow that they still will seem old to you. People that are 35 are incredibly ancient to me, I mean they could technically be elected as USA President (as in they are now old enough)!

From: Jig Chippewa I avoid children in Real Life - I avoid children in Second Life. Whatever turns your crank I guess is up to you BUT I dont like iit when people say "Pway wid me" or "Are U my Mommy?" - In real such a child would be regarded as at least requiring being given street smarts by parents. What is a bad is when you see them in an adult venue like a night club on a "mature" sim. Totally out of place. I was at one that is a ocean club and saw a couple of child avatars there.

Child Avatars aren't children.
Role-play with them as if they were children if you so choose. I think thats what they would like. And its harmless.
But stop treating them like children. (in the "OOC" sense)
And certainly don't treat them like you think they are less worthy to be in SL than you are.

I wish that you all understood.
We are all sick peoples.
There is NOT A SINGLE HUMAN BEING on earth that can be considered as normal.
You all have your own tastes and you can be sure that for each of you there is at least 1000 persons in the world that despise what you do or who you are.
Maybe i wasn't clear, We all are all sickos because we are all humans, and because of this we are all dysfunctional animals.
And when i say this I put everybody in the same bucket, it's about time that we all stick together instead of pointing who we think is sick while denying our own defects.

From: Burnman Bedlam I disagree... if someone were to put up a sign stating "Adults Only" and boot chil-av's from their property... wouldn't they be roleplaying along? Actually, yes. I would do just that, for just that reason. Roleplaying cuts both ways! Children were never permitted anywhere near Tesscatraz, for instance - and vampires, robots etc were also excluded. For the same reasons as non-humans are not welcome in Gorean sims.
