I have seen you nit-pick over almost every single word in many posts in your quest for things being expressed correctly, rather than try to divine what the poster has meant and yet in this case you are willing to entirely dismiss what was written here in order to divine a less harmful purpose. You are letting a double standard show here Argent.

Nobody is saying she doesn't want to attack Rezzable or that she does not think they deserve to be punished, it is her advocated method expressed that I am taking issue with and whether she meant it or not, that is what she wrote.

It was just one of those foolish posts that people do in an effort to make a point when they're feeling like they've been taken. RaR will never read it and even if he did, I guess I'd be surprised if he got the point.

You have actually proved my point though, you took issue with what I said in replying to Sindy in the first place with no basis to say why you thought what you did. My subsequent posts were designed to show that unless she was a close friend or had some other reason to believe what she wrote was not representative of her actual stance then why would you not just take her words as was instead of trying to wring out a more nebulous meaning which in fact you did get wrong. Do you see my point now?

Just a point here though, I was not saying that your *only* reason to advocate copying the Rezzable stuff was L$ motivation but that all of the following made you think it would be OK to do so:

1) You now have a tool of Rezzables own making to use against them. A tool that you disagreed with them releasing in the first place.

2) Teach Rezzable a lesson

3) Save yourself some money in the future by ripping their content instead of buying more.

My issue with yuor post though was that you seemed to be saying that it was all right under those circumstances to rip their content. Again thank you for clarifying you do not feel this way.

Hmmmm, I've looked up, down, back & forth and never have seen "intent" or "tone" in a post before. And I have also damn sure seen a lot of smilies thrown into the end of really vile posts to try to give the author an "out".

If I were Rezzable, I would say this in response to such silliness:

"Go ahead, get yourself a copy of Builder's Bot (or, indeed, any copy tool), and copy our stuff.* Please. We'll even go ahead and preprint a DMCA takedown form with your name on it to save some time.

*Does not constitute or convey any legal license whatsoever to copy our stuff."

Actually, I have used several products which worked better than WD-40 in some situations, and worked decently well enough in others. Even still, WD-40 works pretty good on most things as well. *shrug*

OMG what a hilarious nonsense posted in many of the posts of the previous 15 pages... Whenever a tools is released that maybe potentially allow copyright infridgement, content creators start whining. This reminds me of the recording and filming industry whining for more than 25 years copying is killing them. Yes, copyright infridgment is a crime that should be persued, but people here mixing it up all together. So let's see the facts:

Fact 1: There is/will be a tool allowing people to backup full sims whether they are their own or others.

Fact 2: If people backup their own creations, there is no copyright infridgement.

Fact 3: If people backup creations from others and use them somewhere else other than private use, it's definitely a copyright infridgement for sure.

Fact 4: Right to the 25th anniversary of the Betamax case (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Corp._v._Universal_City_Studios) the question once again comes up, if RezzAble can be made liable for copyright infridgement done by others. 25 years ago, the Suprior Court ruled Sony cannot be made liable for that since they don't have control what individuals do with their product. In times of the Internet and file sharing in special there have been decisions contrary to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A%26M_Records,_Inc._v._Napster,_Inc. and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MGM_Studios,_Inc._v._Grokster,_Ltd.) where the decisions were based on the fact that the first one had control over what has been copied and the product's solely use for promoting copyright infridgment in the latter.

Deciding under what rule described in fact 4 this new tool falls is not task of any of the individuals here and is a court's competancy. If anyone infridges your copyright with this or any other tool, file an DMCA against him. If there is a high amount of copyright infridgements performed by one tool, send an appeal to LL to "ban" it - although from a technical perspective it won't help much or any. So there is only a way to sue RezzAble for creating a tool allowing copyright infridgements, but see fact 4 again for this case.

So please stop attacking or insulting each other as it won't help anything or will bring this discussion any step forward. Thanks for listening.
