Rema, the software was patched server side a while ago, so this exploit is no longer available. We are limited to the megaprim packages that are been kept by several people around the grid.

*sigh* I'm late to the party, as usual lol
Anyone out there have a <65535,65535,65535> full perm cube by chance? im told wearing this is how people become invisible without invisiprims

Also theres a new version of SLProxy called GridProxy, any word on whether or not this is compatible or is it still a bust?

And when the Lindens see it, you'll probably find yourself logged out of SL and unable to log back in for quite some time.

Do not do this, Allric. If a friend told you this needed to be done, find new friends. Really.

Actually this is true, lots of people are wearing them.. the 'trick' though is to make it flexible

The responses here show how unlikely it is that people can tell you're wearing such a large prim xP

That's the "invisible avatar" attachment prim. It doesn't make avatars disappear the same way in all clients so it's best to believe that it's an unreliable solution to invisiprims. At the moment, I think it would be best to wait for the avatar alpha layer. (^_^)y

Whoa whoa whoa, back the thread up! Lots of false info here.

The avatar hiding megaprim is invisible and is not rendered by the client. It can't be clicked on or seen. It's not scripted, or flexi (I've never seen one flexi, anyway). It does not cause lag (real or client), and you will not get in trouble for wearing it. Several creators are using it in complicated avatars, including me. The Lindens know about it, and aren't doing anything other than working on the alpha layer. The only danger with it is rezzing it on the ground and not being able to click it again (it can still be autoreturned and owner returned).

Allric, if you still need one I'll send you my "safe" one...scripted to llDie if dropped on the ground.

Nah, a lot of recent avatars are using this hack. All that happens is it hides your avatar mesh. Lindens have said they will probably break this at some point but probably not until they get alpha masking on skins.

It will break sooner rather then later.

A friend had a conversation with Nyx Linden about this stuff. Here is an excerpt of a note my friend shared with me and others after his chat with Nyx: the megaprim avatar derendering is considered a bug and _WILL_GO_AWAY_! This is definite. And it might be sooner than later... 1.23 will already have the rendering side of a better alternative, sadly not yet the editing side - and I couldn't get Nyx to give a more specific idea on when that editing side will come. But still, read up on the Jira and see what it will be - it will be quite useful, if fully implemented.

But what you should take away from this: this thing won't be a tolerated bug like the invisiprims, so please don't build your business based on it - maybe stick with invisiprims for now, or if you use it, be prepared to hand updates to your customers (and actually you should tell your customers about this thing going to break, so they don't go amuck over it!).

Nyx explicitely invites every creator to come to his office hours to discuss implications of this. Please don't harrass Nyx about it - we need him to finish the coding on the alpha maps ;)

The jira about alpha maps: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-812

Nyx' office hours are noon SLT at the following landmark:

LANDMARK: Nyx Linden's office, Borrowdale (73, 216, 32)

florenze: Argent and I are already well aware of the timeframe involved, it's all over the JIRA. The alpha layer for the avatar mesh is still a ways away, and I'm not about to stifle my creativity while I wait around. People love my micro and tinies that use the avatar hider prim, and not a one has had any problems. LL can't afford to break it before they implement the alpha layer so they probably won't (nyx and the others know that the well-known content creators like me will raise holy heck if they do) and the beta server release of the feature still doesn't have a tentative date.

Anybody who does content creation has to be ready to fix things that the Lindens break. Anybody that can't do that shouldn't be selling. So that point is moot.

In this case, it got my hopes up! And when they came down hard in a 10x10x10 crushing way.

Besides, I'm pretty sure raising the dead would fall under the Adult category, due to the depiction of death and violence....

thought I could finally fill in some useful sizes that were missing, name common parcel cuts, and a few full spheres I want.

All I know is if we have had reports of problems with people wearing giant megaprims, such as obstruction of clicks (as with vendors or other systems), lag, etc. I would STRINGENTLY advise against such use for the likelihood of being associated with such problems, even if indirectly related.

As for the Lindens making it an "supported misfeature", they've already broken PosJump, and plan to break it again permanently as soon as the new, official llTeleport functionality is in, so I wouldn't bank on this being "grandfathered", either.

That's more likely due to things like wings with transparency.

Cite, please. They originally announced scripted teleporting in 1.8 and have been passive-aggressively releasing half-hearted non-implementations ever since.

OK – PosJump will work again in 1.26.1. **Be aware that it's not going to work forever.** Anybody looking at it should realize that it's rather an ugly hack that takes arcane advantage of a bug in the system.... That bug will get fixed. We're currently discussing what we might be able to do in terms of providing legitimate access to the same functionality.
