I got to say I love your attitude - I wish more shared it with you. Like I said in another topic, if people spent as much time into helping themselves as they did into bitching and complaining, things would be a whole lot better.

It's the same people who complain when a piece of hardware breaks, when it's bad weather, when anything doesn't go the way they want it to go. But that's life! Sorry but that's how it is. All Linden Labs can do, is try their best, and when they have their own interests in this, you know they do.

Let me put it like this : be glad you're not on IMVU because things are a hell of a lot worse there. Maybe that's why I'm so laid back with SL, because I know SL is pretty damn good compared to the alternatives out there.

I am getting ready to dry my hair then I think I will actually get out of the computer chair go outside and drive my car (do I right click and select "ride"?) so I can travel to Taco Bell for a Grilled Stuff Burrito or an an apple Empanada. I am not a Wendy's fan. My only question is will the car know where to go if I push the arrows? {scratches her head}

I was thinking about retexturing my walls at home, but I need to stop off at TRU to find a color I like. Man I got a busy day ahead of me. Now if I can just find my land marks the world will be good.

i don't care if somebody is bitching about it. Whatever LL is doing there is always somebody bitching. They are really clever when telling it's a ISP error, we do it at work in the same way, if someting not work really our first statement is that we already talk to the ISP ;)

Won't help. The new things, Havok 4 and WindLight, have actually IMPROVED stability for most people. At the same time, something (possibly increased concurrency) has been chipping away at the asset servers. This is what's been causing increasing problems for the last two or three weeks. Today's problem is something different, it's LL's ISP.

And wouldn't you love/hate to be LL's ISP? Think of all the bandwidth you could sell them! Think of all the frustrated people, including all the Lindens, when something goes wrong!

Frankly, I'm surprised the website's up.

Try the old TSO Stratics once.

The game has been down so much in the past few weeks, the lag is awful, and people are losing items daily, yet if you complain, you get tarred, feathered and branded as a "...returning player who just doesn't get that it isn't the same game anymore!" (only, other than the name of it being changed and the cities being moved onto one map - it's nearly exactly the same, only worse, because of all the downtime and other issues. Or you may get branded as a "...new player who is spoiled by instant gratification games like WoW!" (never mind that people spend weeks and months trying to get certain items in WoW).

The only way you're allowed to bitch without being slammed by the forum regulars (and this includes the resmods - who are the worst snotty, defensive as hell, and yes, even engaging in ad hominem, anytime and criticism is leveled at EA/Maxis), is if you ARE one of the forum regulars. THEN you are allowed to complain, and even start "I'm leaving!" threads, where they will all kiss your ass and wish you well on your next endeavor.

Anyway, the point is, I see a lot less of that sort of behavior here, and I am glad about that.

I understand Linden are having a lot of technical hiccups, silicon rickets setting in and all that. The problem with such a large program with so many people accessing it, so many sprites and things changing all the time, I don't know if it would work with Second Life, but EVE has downtime for an hour each day in which they fix minor bugs, clear the cache and find out where the big problems are so they can formulate a patch to cover them. This has an additional plus... for those of us who get hooked on virtual worlds... an hour each day to get something else done lol.
It's an idea
I think the SL world is a wonderful idea allowing creativity and escapism I really haven't seen anywhere else and we all know, if it involves computers, there will always be hiccups, especially on first installations... "oh no, something new... what am I to do? oh I know I'll switch myself off,"lol

Well educated? Perhaps....an adult with maturity and self control? Not so sure. Can't you write without being insulting? Or do you prefer to run around with your panties in a wad? yes you can voice your opinion. So can the rest of us. Yummy was doing just that. So because he voices his opinion you use a grade school insult, insulting his reading? Yes that shows how educated you are....not. What's next? Fat people insults?
