The reason that LL hasn't been bought out, is that nobody wants this steaming pile. It would cost more to retrofit and fix, than it would to scrap it all and star over.
SL is the laughingstock of MMORGs, pure plain and simple. Yes.. nailed it well comparing apples to squash... Second Life is completely different from any of the MMORG games... it is a bleeding edge multi user, user created platform. The other's are just multi user games. |

I haven't been here as long as some, but
I have seen it ALLLLLL before....
I am old enough to remember when 14k was high enough concurrence to grind the whole thing to a halt... and LL first thought about limiting logins to premiums only....
When search went down for THREE WEEKS and a lot of businesses went bust... after 1.13 update....
When classifieds were borked for three weeks.. same update...
When every Wednesday the whole grid was off for most of the day.... and half the night too if there were bugs... ahem... features...
When on a Friday, if the grid went down, we didn't expect it back until Monday because they didn't work weekends....
God I am tired of seeing folks fuss about a bit of a problem...
There are no guarantees here.. nobody said "give up your day job (or make SL your last ditch between here and not paying your bills) and make your living in SL and we wont crash..." I am very sorry you are not gaining money if you cant get to your business for a while, but you are not 'losing' money... you are just not gaining it today.
I love SL... i take the rough with the smooth.. I hate it when the grid is down on my day off but what is the point of bitching about it?... it will be fixed, and its still the best thing .. and thats why i am sticking it out and not bitching.... well... except for this....

You know I am glad the grid is down. I finally took a shower after 3 days of remaining glued to the screen. The air is beginning to smell much better here. Hell with showers when you can have a pretty sunset on windlight. |
