I got the message twice then got in.

Nice to see that in the last year of almost ZERO population growth, SL used the time wisely to build room for future growth NOT!

Logged out to clear cache and have been unable to log back in since as logins temporarily disable due to high numbers etc.

Meh

I thought we were past this....its not like there are *more* people online.

I am crossing my fingers, hoping the start of the rolling out of new code is causing it, and things will get stable~ish next week.

edit: Whats the point of an RSS feed if I have to go to the actual page to check for updates....

since the residents always know when things go wrong first, I want an Official Resident Feedback thread. It will be our own "status page" and the Lindens can even watch it.

Sounds simple, I should just start the thread myself....

Time like these it seems like they limit your ability to log on to when someone else logs off.

So you're in a que ..

Like things slow down and the system sets a number range of allowed logons.

Don't know if thats true, but that is how it feels.

-------------------------

If my wild speculation here is at all correct though, of course that means the trafficbots need to get logged off.

Totally unfair that an account used to game a worthless number might be preventing someone else from logging on.

That could start up a whole new market.

One could sell their logged in slots. A savvy bot runner could log in a few bots and sell their slots to others desperate to get in.

Timing would be everything...."OK, I am loggin out *now*, quick quick log in"!!

I agree with you, swaffette. Those of us with sims and businesses and such pay a lot of money in here. When traffic gets too high, they should put a block on the free accounts logging in. It is not right to be kept out of SL when we are paying to be in it!

this absolutly pisses me off.... there is no reason for temporaily disabled logins for PAYING SUBSCRIBERS!!!!!. I have 2 paid accounts that never seem to have a "payment temporarily disabled due to we screwed up" notice attached. that $150 comes out no problem. sooooo disable the non paying subscribers for a while. i dont get reimbursed for time lost..

I don't think the premium membership priority log on idea ever took off.

-----------------------

It would make sense to limit login priority to premium and concierge members of course

Not "only" allow them in, but allow them a priority login path.

Just like Season Pass holders at Theme Parks.

So what ever DID happen to the idea of limiting logins to only paid residents at high load times? Clearly they're not doing it; inquiring minds want to know, LL...

There was also an idea of limited services like search, etc at peak times to cut down on load. I don't know what happened with that either.

Neither idea fit in with the LL's Tao.

Here is an unprecedented artist's rendering of the previous discussions advocating limited logins for free accounts during peak times:

Why does LL bother having a status website? They never post any information about the actual status of SL there, unless it's a planned downtime (which thank goodness we haven't had in a long time!)

I'm blocked too, dammit. :(
