So why are kids on Zindra?

Last time I heard of anyone legitimately actioned over such was a couple months ago, under the proximity clause (in this case, a location with some very inappropriate content including photorealistic imagery). There have been some other instances, akin to another SL Forum's account actioning that would appear to have been in error or an example of very poor judgement. I'm *sure* there are instances I do not know of, and do not really want to know of.

That said, it would appear that *actual* sexual ageplay on SL is a rarity, and likely rarer than it is elsewhere on the 'net.

What does that have to do with anything? There was no "sexualized environment".

An important point I've tried to make a couple of times. It does not matter if sexual ageplay happens on Zindra, on a private island, on a mature mainland parcel, or by the pool at the Governor's mansion in Clementina. It does not matter if it happened yesterday or a week ago.

Such insensitivity was not my intent, and for *that* I apologize.

Speaking as someone who has been known to venture out occasionally into the real world, and who even converses sometimes with people who AREN'T hiding behind pixelated Barbie dolls, I can assure you that what to YOU (and, indeed to me) seems like a "crappy giant penis costume" is likely to be read rather differently by those not acculturated to the wonderful world that is SL.

Here's what they see: Party. Giant Penis. Child. All in relatively close proximity.

So really the rules have been working and with having to be age verified it's a good chance it will be even more of a rarity on zindra? Since they can access the same things on mature now with NPIOF..

The only difference between Zindra and the land currently defined as Mature is, Linden Lab would like you to demonstrate you're willing to give them money by placing payment information on file with them to get into it.

Clarissa, I was in fact responding, in what I thought was a reasonably humorous way, quite directly to the suggestion that I need to "get a life," and the implication that I am "pathetic." And in point of fact, my answer wasn't meant to be particularly hostile, nor did I intend to suggest that anyone is stupid. The reference to occasionally getting out into the real world was actually self-deprecating.

I sincerely hope you are right, because I too believe that "there's nothing there." At the same time, I think that this demonstrates some pretty poor judgement on the part of some of those present (from whom I would, btw, exempt Marianne, as she seems very much aware of the issues at play here).

Personally? I think people are probably a lot more concerned about what is in the top headlines - like oh, imminent nuclear war - than a couple of cartoons in a virtual world. To be blunt, if asked what "most people" out there would think of 'that screencap' - most people out there do not give a crap about this game one way or the other.

You are right, I don't think it is a "big deal," in reality. But it very nicely exemplifies the point made earlier in this thread by the learned Prof. Kappler (now represented by his aged uncle), that the very presence of child avatars on Zindra constitutes a problem, and a potential threat (even if inadvertent) to everyone else in their vicinity.

As for my supposed hostility to Milla . . . while my response was not intended to be anything more than a humorous rejoinder, I might note that I have received more than my fair share of lumps from her in the past, and she has demonstrated that she can handle a few back in return. In fact, even had I intended to "wound" her, my poor wit would undoubtedly have proven unequal to the task.

I would further qualify that by saying: The presence of a child avatar in a sexually oriented situation on Zindra constitutes a problem. (^_^)
