Conan, if you don't mind elaborating... Is this woman just a friend or a lover too? If so are you faithful too her? I'm just wondering if she is in love with you and if so and if you are having unemotional sex with other women how that makes her feel? Please forgive me and ignore this if I am being too nosy.

True, some women have better genetics than others and thus will provide stronger off-spring - I conced your point there. Infact studies have shown that women with large breasts in relation to their waist size tend to be more likely to concieve, and are thus a better bet, and therefore worth a little more investment.

What I mean by "working hard" is mostly having to listen to the things women talk about, which 99% of the time are entirely outside all of my fields of interest.

I may be trolling with the second half of this post. I may not. I haven't decided yet; there's still that 1% of women who talk about something interesting occassionally that needs to figure in the equation somewhere.

As for the "only know how to take part", perhaps I should explain my situation, since you have clearly made some assumptions based on watching too much Sex and the City or something. My partner is very ill. She has clinical depression. I work full time to support her - she doesn't work, she can't. She can barely bring herself to get out of bed some days, let alone the house. I go to university (full time also) - so that I can better my career prospects; so I can provide her with the secure lifestyle she's never had. I cook for her. I do all the housework. I clean her clothes. I sometimes dress her. She is pretty much incapable of functioning as a normal human being - at the moment, until she gets better. Basically, I do all the things the partner of a physically handicapped person does (except help her go to the toilet - she can manage that, which is a good thing because she'd be on her own for that anyway). I haven't bought a pair of jeans in 4 years - because all my money goes to paying for her to have her hair done nicely, or to have her nails manicured, so that she can feel better about herself, or towards saving for a holiday for her so she has something to look forward to in life. Anyone who has ever lived with someone with depression knows how demanding people with it can be. The rest of you can never understand. I give her everything. There cannot be many men in history who have ever given as much to a woman as I give; until now without complaint.

If people are going to refuse to read my edit to the post on the last page, they can hardly be suprised if I refuse to answer questions that have the answers contained in said edit. Being the naturally serene, zen-like, person that I am there are few things that frustrate me; being asked to repeat myself is one of those few things.

but you have to see, that in order to do the things described above, you have to have some sort of emotional attachment. also, it worries me greatly that you aren't taking time out for yourself.

Ah, now, this is a trap a lot of people fall into. I've touched on this subject (in much less detail) before, and people seem to assume I am unhappy with the arrangement. It is man's lot in life to sacrifice for those weaker than himself; it is in our nature and it is the way things are.
