Not crude or lude, just nude!

If there's one thing that bothers me about SL, its that the real world misconception of nudity = lewd has been adopted over.

There's no good world for the naked people like me =(

How cute would that be? Just a black attachment board here and an attachment board there with censored typed across it. Then you could be almost nekkid!

For a new years party I wore just a figleaf, it was a tiny gstring that had a figleaf attached on the front, everyone thought it was awesome since where we went I couldn't be normally naked..

Anyway, I wish there was such a thing in SL, haven't found a fig leaf... so no, i'm just clothed in SL ;p Ew.

I go around naked everywhere. I don't understand what the problem is.

Am not a nudist myself but I see your point. Nudity in second life is accociated with sex.

instead of looking at this as something you miss, maybe see is as an opportunity.

if you cannot find what you want, create it... After all... That's the strength of second life.

I had avoided.. but heck I gotta ask... how the heck do you go about in RL nude and not get arrested?

Just go spend all your time with like-minded and unclothed folks at one of the nudist areas.

I can't create a concept, or understanding in the minds of others without being called an evil brainwasher or cultist.

I don't think anyone has really cared. I don't go into bustling city streets or anything, only hang with well known friends/places, etc.

There are no nudist areas in SL that aren't sexfests.

Unfortunately Cen, people in SL are merely people. Some of us are more conservative when it come to nakedness and sexuality that others. For some people having ones genitalia exposed is considered a sexual act, and their belief is that such things should be kept behind closed doors. Others have no problem with exposing there genitalia in general public, and yet others have no problem having sex openly in general public. When totally opposite and possibly equally valid points of view are in danger of interacting, compromises and tolerance must be shown on both sides. Your fig leaf solution for example.

So, obviously none of my business, but what do you do for a living?

Cen, I remember seeing an Adam and Eve outfit someplace inworld in my travels - I was tempted to buy the Eve myself. I'm pretty sure it was just a figleaf for the guy, more or less Try searching OnRez or SLX and then look it up inworld.

It is kind of interesting how nudity is so immediately associated with sexual content (but then again, SL is an american company and we do tend to have prudish stamped on our forhead compared to other parts of the world) as opposed to lets say, taking a bath. It's our own discomfort with sexuality in general that makes us so tweeky about nakedness. (I say this about humans in general, not about myself, definitely not a prude here lol)

Violence on the other hand......is quite well accepted.....you can't go around swinging your gun everywhere in SL....but you can certainly find plenty of places to use one or partake in all kinds of violent acts. But oh my goodness don't be naked! How a nude pixel created body form can be offensive is beyond me. I'm not a nudist either, but I'll tell you what....if I had to wander about among nekkid avatars it wouldn't exactly freak me out.

I think what happens in SL, unfortunately.....is because it is such a novelty concept....pixel nudity and sex....ya get a lot of folks who's soul idea of nudity in SL is the convey their willingness and ability to have sex. LOL

I have seen nudist colonies in search though...I know I have....keep looking......or go to the European regions.....their not as uptight as the americans usually.

Try looking for a SL Kid friendly nudist colony and see how long it lasts... I still wanna play lawn darts. (=_=)

Perhaps not, but you can create a community where people who agree with you can gather, and people who aren't sure can come and learn from you.

If it's true that all SL nudist communities are sexfests (I wouldn't know as I don't frequent them), and you don't like that, then you might consider creating a nudist community that is not a sexfest.

I would be VERY surprised if there weren't a fair number of like-minded folks in SL. In fact I know of two people myself who I bet would be delighted to find a comfortable, non-sex-focused nudie community.

Ive visited quite a few nudist areas...and NOT ALL are sex fests...try searching a bit more..and some of the ones that did offer some types of sexual activity...offered it away from the main areas, so no need to have other peoples bonking thrust upon you.

There is a small nudist beach not far form my SL home. Not sure how many people actually visit there, only know what it was because I saw a sign and camed in to read it. Have yet to see "Sex Fest" activities there. But no offense... There are plenty of clothing only places in SL that are equally lewd and vulgar, so I feel your pain.

... Actually I have found upscale strip and swingers clubs in SL so be far less lewd and vulgar, though more maturely sexy than many plain dance clubs. Just one humble DJs opinion.

The way to find obscure places in SL is to find people who would be in such a place, and ask them about it.

Use Search for Groups and type "Naturist". I see two groups there that might be of interest to you. "Club Naturist VIP" and "Nude but not Rude". Join the group and say hello via Group IM. If no members answer, then send an IM to the group founder saying hello and asking if s/he knows of any places where real nudists hang out.

You can create a place that embraces that concept and removes those people who don't comply. I'll bet you would be surprised to find like-minded people showing up if you listed a place with a clear non sexual nudist description in Search. And I doubt anyone will call you "evil" if the sex based nudist areas are accepted. Give it a try, I hear land is going for cheap these days!
