PS: side remark to Darien, if you are still around despite having closed Dari's Haus:
Please have a look at those script timings benchmarks on Nandana's blog:

Not to start a flamewar, but it seems OpenCollar's compare favorably to yours ;-).
As for memory usage... well we lack tools for comparing. That would be interesting to know (silly Lindens, limiting memory without providing the tools to assess memory usage!).

I would not take these results as conclusive. Some of their results fly in the face of every test I have ever performed. (about the number of scripts relationship to script time).

The OpenCollar and Dark Jewel collars seem to be way under what they should be. The results on my collar and Marine's are way high. I did my own tests and posted the results in the comments.

Plus they are not comparing apples to apples, for instance my collar has a built in AO that is enabled by default, whereas OpenCollar's is external. As many people know AOs are traditionally one of the most laggy components in SL, since there are no events for changes in avatar state... it is done with lots of polling.

I don't want people to start dividing up their scripts because of this report. Every test I have ever performed shows that the less running scripts the better the script times.

Everyone agrees that the methodology is perfectible. Nandana first.
Still, this is already more tangible than vague claims.
I hope more and better measures will come in the future.

I agree the more information out there the better. But I am just worried the results from this test might push people in the wrong direction. Since we are operating in a shared environment... it is beneficial to all that item makers make the least laggy items possible. :)
