For everyone else, thanks for the kind words. You can all be in my clique. I'm afraid Strauss and I aren't going to see eye to eye on this, but he's entitled to his opinion and his say. I'm just going to avoid posting in this thread again. You all know I'm not into drama and I'd rather just joke around, help out where I can and have fun. I'm going to go back to doing that.

This is often called "being Blunt" on internet forums.

Of course those who are actually being blunt don't need to type people to get their point across.

And they certainly don't need to defend themselves by calling attention to how blunt they supposedly are.

QFT! Besides, subtlety is an artform that can get your point across much better. Actually, maybe subtlety is the wrong word, but the concept is still the same.

Choice of weapons is an intersting topic.

The more obvious ones are easy to repel. ( ie.. you are all a bunch of Nooby tards/turds )

The more practised ones use the "landmine" technique.

You read their post, and say to yourself......hmmm "I cant escape the impression, that this poster, just called me a Loser F**kwit."

You go back, read the post again....it is hard to find a single qoutable qoute, to pinpoint this.
And yet on second reading you are even more convinced, that you have been lumped into a group, and made to look pathetic.

If you take this hidden bait, you are now open to the charge of being sensitive, thin-skinned, paranoid etc.

Any veteran of fora, knows that particular communities have there own hot buttons. It wouldnt take more than a week to find them.

I imagine it can give some people satisafction, to stir up a hornets nest.

I adore well crafted insults, even if theyre directed at me. If skillfully done then theyre a pure pleasure to read.

For some it seems to be more astonishment, that anyone would dare take issue with something they post. They wear their "I've been on the Internet for XX years." like a soldier wears Combat Stripes, everyone else of lesser experience is nothing more than a clueless neophyte.

The "You are all just an angry mob" is their favorite one though because from that point on it invalidates every argument you can possibly make. They can dismiss it as being illogical and unreasonable because you just want to go with the flow and of course it would have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you disagree with them whatsoever.

Once those words come out of their mouths it really is time to just end the discussion and move on. Any further debate will be fruitless.

I just start using compression braking instead of the brake pedal, a few tire chirping decellerations without brake lights looking at the underside of a steel framed 4x4 ute tray usually gets them to back off.
A few years ago, I saw karmic balance at work, was following a ute that had no brakelights, so I left plenty of space, the guy behind me started tailgating me, so I switched lanes into a lane that promptly stopped moving, 100m down the road I pass them again, tailgater wedged under the brake light lacking ute, radiator fluid everywhere.

That is so awesome, I'm gonna use it for my tag line!
