I have to agree with Cristalle, not everything you dislike should be the subject for an AR, sometimes we have to put up with a lousy neighbor and just wait them out. It however was very nice to see all of U---- H-- land getting sold in my sim, and even nicer that the new owner leveled them so the were not sticking up out of the road... I am sure more signs will be put there but hopefully not nearly as annoying.

the other signs when the lots have been taking off the market, I'll just live with. (and yes there are some 16m lots with banlines but they are very easy to ignore in light of what we have gained.)

I did a "Return to Riback" to see how it was coming along.
The remains of the old battleground are still recognisable.

Up on the 'stage'/ main grid, I see a scattered collection of Ninja 16s - L$4729 for 432 sq.m.


There are a few 16m shellholes in the main part of the original 4096, where Hax defiantly holds out for L$2000

Pr**mlands have a 16 at their standard(ish) price of $1495 -- good luck with that!

There are others trying to sell from 500 and up.

One of the plots actually has ad prims ..... way up high .... about 60m above ground level, which in Riback means that it's just in the clouds! ...... so there's a huge screen on the nearby boundary to hide it.



Down in the NE corner oh Highcastle, Hax still exhibits in a few of his original roadside triangle - most at L$9541 a pop, but one at L$24591.

There's a dirty great multiple megaprim mountain covering the Linden protected road at that NE corner ....

For our added delectation, the perps have BAN LINES - inside the outer mountain, but sort of coinciding with the edge of one of the inner megaprim surfaces.
Yup. Walk along that valley and the lines suddenly jump at you out of the mountain. It's all a bit surreal.

No, I am saying you are a hypocrite for your signs which are just as much of an eyesore as anything you accuse others of doing. You have every damn right to do what you want on your property. You just don't have the integrity to walk the walk after talking the talk.

If the person is knowingly creating that crap kind of view caused by ban lines - then I'd say she has every right to make them aware of what they are doing.

The sensible thing, of course, would be for the other person to apologise for spoiling the view, then she can take down the fake banlines and pictures to restore the other person's view, and both can live happily ever after.

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening because people who put banlines up for no good reason (and I don't consider any of the "justification" good reasons, sorry) seem to think they are the only people that matter.

Appears to be starting around 12.5/sq.m. They have some sort of system where they start the lots relatively high to give 'mistakes' an opportunity to contact them before it changes hands again and drop the price every hour until it sells -- I think that's how it was explained to me when I asked. Still, it's a bargain compared to $4951!

Yeah I got some crazy mall owner in Andraca who refuses to drop banlines on vacant flat green blocks. of course they don't border his land and he refuses to swap them for land next to his.

so assholes who have ad farms actually have the decensy to complain about being not given much time to comply (read their whinery in their profiles) AND have the decensy to ban anyone from their 16m² land, slippery slope, its still just a loophole for the same purpose, abuse for sale, thats just right next to a road in many cases.

These destroy the sole purpose of roads and make vehicles obsolete.

Apparently U.H. dropped his prices in Nikach, including the lovely 16m he had for sale for L$100,000. It looks like it's all bought up at this point, much of it by the Ninjas.

Remember when his profile said not to bother him by asking him for a lower price? Now it says to write him and he'll make the price cheaper.

I hope Avion doesn't mind me stealing a quote from him: "It's a great time being virtually alive".

I wonder what the cut off is. There are a lot of lots with this description.

1024 sqm for $88,888 (86.804 L/sqm) and land loaded with get money quick schemes.

If they're pyramid schemes, AR the objects. Let the land worry about itself - after all, if there's nothing on there spoiling the view, let the owner eat the tier for a month or two and it'll soon come down.

It hasnt removed all of the ads but the view has become much nicer, we will see what a couple of months will do for us. At least there dosnt seem to be a rush to replace the U... H.. signs with a whole new level of advertising.

Alice, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months.

I have a feeling a few advertisers will hold on for a while, out of human pride and stubbornness: an unwillingness to admit that advertising on small parcels in SL is a dumb business model, and was nothing but a front for extortion. Tier payments will catch up with them, and they'll soon go back under the rocks they came from.

A few may also continue to lie to customers who rent ad space; and find ways to fake the effectiveness of the ads. These services will likely have to rise in price though, since the operators can't extort money anymore. And businesses are not going to keep paying for these forever, when they find that no one clicks on them, everyone hates them, and the only person making any money is the ad farmer.

We'll also see more of what we are already starting to see. Land listed as not for sale but then listed that it is in the land description or in the land owners profile. Just a way of delaying the inevitable. LL will get to them too.

It isn't your land, so it doesn't really matter if you agree with the justification or not.

I'll bring it back... I'm feeling very blue today, the spinning full bright cubes are still twisting around in front of big falls, totally destroying the serenity of sitting there at night. I AR'd them Friday, no joy... the GOA-BOA in yer face ads are still up everywhere and the tequila signs are still stacked so high in Dharmaraksa that there isn't really a way to try and make it look better but a huge screen (blech, that blocks moon at night - can you tell I'm a night person?), oh and the "This is not an adfarm" stack of visual garbage is still up in Ennin. I'm so bumbed.

On the FULL BRIGHT cubes in front of the big waterfalls... I tried using the invisible prim thing and it did block out the for sale sign nicely (it is not FULL BRIGHT) but it will not block the bright cubes at all, does anyone know if there is an invisiprim that will muffle light? TIA :niff::

I love the freedom of the mainland and have always lived there. One of the freedoms I enjoy is being free to be considerate of my neighbors. So I never built anything overwhelming or unsightly. And I always let my fellow sim residents know that my land was open for them to use any time. And of course, I never left ban lines on.

Freedom to me means doing whatever I want, but also being aware that I don't exist in a vacuum and that other people's views and ability to fly or sail around their sim without hitting obstacles matter too. I just feel better and more free when I respect others as well as please myself.
