I agree with HoneyBear, although my real life hubby has never been inworld, he approves of whatever I decide to do here, and if that means me having a virtual fling in my virtual world, he's fine with that. He and i both know that although feelings are involved to a certain extent, it will never cross realms, and aslong as it does not affect or impact our lives, its cool.

Aslong as your RL wife is ok with it, go with the flow. but if there is the slightest chance of is messing with your RL relationship, i wouldn't touch it

Me fondly recalls the days of Hard Alley. Oooo come to think of it Hard himself. At that time he did (and probably still does) lives up to his name.

I think it's interesting that so many people recommend talking to their SL spouse.

In RL, would you say the same thing?

Alvaro, all of us who are saying "talk to your spouse" ARE referring to REAL LIFE spouses.

Many people do have RL affairs, of course, but RL affairs often mean the end of a marriage. The consensus seems to be that if you have an SL affair and don't tell your spouse, it can be just as damaging as a RL affair because it IS having an affair. Most people aren't willing to risk their RL marriage for a virtual fling.

Oops! I didn't read Alvaro's post correctly. Yes, we do mean talk to your REAL LIFE spouse if you want an SL affair to not damage your RL marriage.

I don't have the huevos to ask permission to dilly-dally with other avatars.

I'd just do it the old-fashioned way: on the sly, with the hope of getting away with it and the naive notion that it wouldn't hurt my marriage.

But you've all convinced me that even though these are just avatars it's a dangerous path to go down. I knew that... just wanted some confirmation.

When we say talk to your partner, we mean RL. The person who shares the houshold expenses with you. The one who will drive you to the doctor when you are ill. Talk to them. Communicate with them about your wants, desires, and limits. Find out if this is something they can perticipate in.
