 I advise everyone to go back now and read post #1. Draw your own conclusions.. looks to me like editorial said there was a meeting.. (true) That certain types were not welcome, nor was the press..(true) Makes an observation on the group as a whole (opinion) Where the meeting was held (true) A chat log (true) and finally the groups charter. (true) hmm seems he posted mainly fact and one option... In a strange twist of fate - Mulch would like on one hand to see Editorial banned for pubishing something while asking the lindens for transparency Good luck getting Editorial banned.. especially in light of: Philip Linden: I think that things this group may do should be uniformly public. Seems that no one can join while an officer recall is in effect. So either someone is already fucking with the group, or they are fucking it up for others wishing to participate by holding a fake officer recall. Actually, the group was announced in open chat at the Town Hall on Tuesday, and everyone present there was invited to join. Among them were content creators, FIC members (if I'm assuming rightly who the FIC are?), service providers, land owners, consumers, club owners, "nobodys" (like me), and anyone interested in wearing the tag "GOM Trader". The title was changed to "Stakeholder" after the Town Hall because it was felt that the GOM situation was not the only focus of the group, though it certainly prompted it's formation. During the Town Hall everyone who joined the group then was privy to the group IM going on during the discussion with Philip Linden, in which a follow-up meeting to discuss the event further was scheduled. I cannot find where this was mentioned in the Town Hall Transcript? I could only find mention of a group forming based on the following question and answer: Philip Linden: Satchmo Prototype: If SL is to really become the next generation Internet platform we need open working groups that includes both residents and LL employees to develop API's everyone can use. Philip Linden: Would Linden Lab consider creating an Engineering Working Group to develop open, secure, and well defined protocols for money exchange? Philip Linden: Yes Philip Linden: We'd be happy help and support that kind of a process. It wasn't hidden. Were you at the town hall? Should we have sent a singing telegram to you to tell you? We were given an opportunity (a rare one) and we jumped at it. Should we be condemned because we didn't send out a prim invite with particles and a landmark to every single resident of SL? Be realistic here. 90% of anything is just showing up Philip agreed with things we brought to his attention. Why do you think we were given a meeting? Look at the transcripts to the town hall and what lead up to it, and the forums regarding his announcement. He understands the great concern over the precedent, and he chose to face the consequences when confronted about the overall ramifications. Would you be happier if he hid out and didn't address what he knows is a polarizing issue? If you want to know the "real purpose" of this group, join and find out. Don't be a lazy do-nothing who demands everything spoon fed in bite size chunks so you understand it. It is open enrollment, you just need to be smart enough and give a damn enough to be where things happen. I explained how I found out about this group. If you were where I was, why weren't you in the group. Were you at the town hall on the main sim? Don't let YOUR indifference make me seem like a bad guy for giving a damn and going OUT OF MY WAY to be where things were happening. There was no secret, but there was no publicist either.  Which bothers you more, the fact we didn't go out of our way to inform you or the fact we made progress without the "benefit" of your whiny complainy forum noises? And since you brought it up, care to explain what the "real problem" is you are alluding to? I though we had a good start, if you clue me in, maybe we can add it to the notecard after you get off your ass, join the group, and do something besides make whiny complaining noises when we don't send you a personal invite to initiate progress and change. It must be my blind jealousy, of course, but there are at least three people in that conversation that I find to be beyond contempt.
