With respect, lass, you've only been here since May. ![]() When SL was a new world there were very few places to shop. Fey, Chip, Frankie Beach, Mistress were the mainstays. What? You never heard of Frankie Beach? Well, no matter...and most people could not afford Chip anyway. But, back to the point. In the beginning every one knew one another's work and when the subject of a designer came up the attention was focused on the handful that existed because there just were not others. Also back then, everyone wore wings,,,although I wont take claim to the fingers up my nose part of it. Now there are...many many many designers. And no offense meant to Aimee, and as cute as her striped stockings and wings, and fingers up her nose are, we have all seen them and there really are other newer things and designers out there to admire. I can think of two great designers who are overlooked but who have had incredible impact on the SL styles ..Vindi Vindaloo and Nonna. Also, let's not forget here, folks, that you're crapping on a real person here. Hope you're having a lot of fun. _____________________

Oh, oh right. Someone else should do it. Ok. Specifically, Marcos, the people who should do it are the LINDENS. They need to profile VASTLY more people on these pages. They need to change out the pictures of avatars more often. And in probably a dozen, smaller ways, they need to realize and publically recognize the fact that there are many people in this world worthy of profiling and promotion. coco _____________________

Y'know coco... all the energy you've spent on this thread could have been used to write an article about the talented people you said were easy to find.
Just sayin' ![]() And furthermore, I wish they'd change up the website too... just so the bitching would ease back for a little while. No... no wait.... someone would be there to bitch about the next batch of people to go up on the website. ![]() |

Ooh ooooh! If you want to get the Lindens's attention about SL residents ya think should shine, here is a link to the PR contacts at Linden Lab! http://lindenlab.com/press_4.php I'm sure you could also prolly IM and inworld Linden and ask them to pass it on (which is nice, inworld comm... ahhh). Getting in touch with them with highlights is a great place to start! Lindens do read the forums too, maybe they're reading this thread right now ~gets all paranoid and climbs back into the cathouse~. _____________________

You've always talked about how people should be decent to others on the forums. Yet, not surprisingly, you're taking a side that's got to be making a pretty decent person feel pretty damn bad right now. Why? Because Aimee is one of the THEY? The mean spiritedness being shown in this thread is pretty gross. If you're not able to see that, then it completely confirms the opinion I formed of you when you went off calling Bedazzle being awarded a big contract an incident and a problem. Harrison Bergeron, folks. Go read it. _____________________

All you are saying is that there is that there is some vague, shadowy group keeping you down. At least provide some links to posts as a reference so that we can finally believe you. This thread has made me want to touch Aimee's panties. A lot. Come on, Ingrid. Surely you don't believe that "all I have been saying" here is "There is some vague, shadowly group trying to keep me down." I am saying and will say again that there are people on these boards who try to keep things from becoming more of an opportunity for all. Those people think it's fine for the Lindens to profile six people, and that will serve for all eternity. And if you don't agree, you're jealous. That is a fact. And that is just one example of bunches. And surely you don't believe anybody is ever going to keep me down. coco P.S. I don't need to post any references to other threads, when we have perfect and glaring examples of it in this thread. If you don't believe it when you see it, that's your problem. And who is this "we," as in, "so that we can finally believe you"? You and Enabran? _____________________

I've known Aimee since she built her first Brownstone in Hawthorne. She's a good builder, and best of all, not as lazy as I am. Because of this, she's garnered attention and articles about herself that are a sole product of her efforts at making new and interesting things.
I can't find fault in my friend, Aimee, getting attention and compensation for what she's worked for. Its entirely deserved. What isn't, however, are the small-minded assholes thinking they can sit on their hands and expect the same benefits. _____________________

THE YEAR WAS 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren’t only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General. It's funny, Cocoanut. As I have said in virtually every post I have ever made on this topic, in no way is Aimee herself at fault for this overexposure. Moreover, I think she's smart and sensible enough to know this, even if you don't. Therefore I doubt that it is making her feel pretty damn bad right now. And if it is, it is not because I've said anything to that effect. She knows I think she is adorable, because I've said so both on the forums and to her in IM's. So how about you stop speaking for her? Bedazzled being awarded that contract - which hadn't been announced or available for bids by anyone else - WAS a problem and an incident. One which the Lindens say they won't repeat. And I didn't even know who they'd chosen when I made that observation. I gather they DID feel bad about it, since one of them came on to post a long, defensive, and hurt post. When I ask for equal opportunity to all - and at least a semblance of fairness on the part of the Lindens - it is never out of desire to hurt anyone else, whether I know who the favored one is or not. coco _____________________

I agree with this also. ![]() Guys, work is work. And I'm very choosy about who I work for irl and command top money for it. SL for me is fun. It's fun to talk on the forums. Writing articles - particularly when dozens of other people could do the same thing - would take it out of the fun realm for me. And anyway, writing articles is kinda beside the point. Who would one write them for? What needs to happen is the SL PR department needs to make a more concerted effort to spotlight information on a variety of different players. coco _____________________

Once your victim was unmasked, you said, I, too, see it as a huge step forward for SL. _____________________

When I ask for equal opportunity to all - and at least a semblance of fairness on the part of the Lindens - it is never out of desire to hurt anyone else, whether I know who the favored one is or not. What I don't understand is why you aren't using your writing talents to help create more equal opportunity. The SL website isn't the only place to find information about the people in the SL world. The Lindens are busy with 1.7 as they should be. I would rather they be bringing us new features than worrying about the fluff profiles on the website. It's SO EASY to start your own blog or an in-world newspaper, or any number of things. Heck, I'll even help you make newspaper vendors. It's super-easy. Write something. I promise I will read it. ![]() |

Congratulations Aimee ![]() <3 Mis, I'd like to take this time to thank you for being so nice to me when I was a total n00b. I felt really welcome and I remembered when some sounds were played of someone laughing, and I was like "Who's that?" and you said it was Aimee. (I didn't actually meet her for another few weeks). I'm very happy Midnight City is still here after all this time, and it shows how weathering the storms of change not only builds character, but makes for wonderful fashion. The first time I was ever in Midnight City, Mistress showed me a ride on the Spook House (as created by Sinatra Cartier) and explained to me what goes on in the city (then located in Umber). It was confusing to me because I was still getting aquainted but I know it was good stuff! I took a particular fondness to a certain dumpster, and the story went from there. Mis helped me out with clothes and I got adjusted. There was also a skybar Aimee built but was contributed to by many Midnight City denizens in the forms of graffiti and online status indicators I think! I spent a lot of time there, often asking if it was okeydokey for me to come on in, and every time I felt welcome. One of the first things Mistress Midnight ever said to me was, "We're not snobs" and I took her at face value. I didn't have any foreknowledge of what history (good or bad or inbetween) had gone on before, and I simply didn't care about that. I've seen so many good things happen in Midnight City involving the whole group, including events for charity and fashion shows to promote up-and-coming talent, to just wacky having fun and racing around the streets. A test is time and so many places have fallen by the wayside for one reason or another, unfortunately, but to know that special things live on is a big inspiration to me. And to think, Torley Torgeson Sr. once used to stare at MC's washing machines. The cycle continues in kind and it's part of the reason why I like to welcome new Residents to Second Life. I wouldn't be here today without your early positive influence, so thanxies! _____________________
