Why Germany became a facist state started long before Hitler was even born, and the horror of facism is not limited to Germany by any means. It could happen anywhere, the USA, Isreal, France, Inda, Luxemburg . Well, maybe not Luxemburg.

Recognizing the elements that allow facism to grow is the best way to stop it from ever happening. The US is not anything close to a facist state yet, but seeds are being planted and I fear for the next generation.

You may find the Kennedy Kruschev meeting in early 1961 interesting. Kennedy was the president of the most powerful nation in the world, yet Kruschev concluded that he could bully him, which helped set the state for the Cuban missile crisis.
