My spelling is always rotten Taco. Ask any of the forum people who level the " you can't spell so you must be stoopid" criticism. I think I was even negrated for my spelling. I certainly wasn't neg rated for acting like an ass. I mean accusing someone of being an ass in the forums is like accusing someone of speeding in the Indy 500. At east I have given up rpetentions and admit to be ing all knowing, all seeing and aimee weber's alt.

But no I am not hung over. And really its not so much the spelling, as it is the typing.

Not hung over? You sure don't SOUND like Aimee Weber's Alt. :D

Dear Jake,

I've been relatively good this year and all I want are some answers...

1. In light of cases like Reginald Denny, OJ Simpson, and Michael Jackson, do you think that the law often gets in the way of justice?

2. Was the war in Iraq really illegal?

3. Would you defend Saddam Hussein?

4. Was it right of the ACLU to blackmail the California government into changing the seal against the will of the voters?

Thanks in advance,

-Kiamat Dusk

Who you re going to use it on is a primary consideration. Most anyone you would taser deserve top be shot. buyingb a taser can be as difficult as buying a handgun.

Local law is of primary concern, in some places it is not legal to carry a taser. Some places it is difficult to buy them.

If they are allowed in your area (and you must check even city ordinances for this. then i reccomend the Taser X26C as the most effective, relaiable and portable. they aren't cheap but really you don't want to skimp, it would suck to schok yourself as well as the target.

Taser Corporation has its own website.

Thank you. While this was helpful, I've been pondering part of your answer. Why do you believe that anyone I would taser would deserve to be shot? Do I have a misconception about the effects of a tazer as being disabling but not deadly? Can you not see situations where I would want to strongly influence someone but not wish to inject a bullet into some part of them? Or to be in the situation where one had neither sufficient data nor the time to gather necessary information under which to make an informed decision?

Also, your answer refers to carrying a taser. Generally speaking, are there diifering rules for having (and using) a taser in your home or on your property and carrying it in public? I will check into local ordinances as you advised.

No.

I mean, what self defence devices should I consider as an alternative to owning a gun?

Well that was almost a question. But know at the time I wrote that I was not hung over. And you of all people know that I am the alt that never gets hung over. Who wants an alt that suffers with them. :)

Cori, technically, and purely technically, there is a question in her post so not spanking aimee, yet.

I think its sounds very good in truth, and there is a lot of noise among states to get police departments to adop tasers, but really the sort of situation I imagine that you would use a taser isn, is pretty extreme-involving threats of death or rape. In that case a gun is justified. I remain unconvinced about the effacacy of tasers as deterrents. In most situations worrying about an informed decision is meaningless, since you will know.

Of course if ou are more comfortable with the idea of a taser, then you should go that rout. A taser you are willing to use is better for purposes of self defense than a gun you are goingt to hesitate with.

In any other situation, like using the taser to keep your ex off the lawn, I think use of any force is unjustified.

I suppose also if you are a runner, keeping a taser might be handy for warding off dogs, bt it might kill them too.

In general there are differing rules for having or carrying every weapon. Taseres may well fall outsiude these categories in your jusrisdiction (things are different in Texas than in Oregon).

I think the Taser is about the best. there has been some argument that tasers are not-non lethal, but I think that is based on targets that have had pre-existing conditions.

The key with selcting any person defense system is two fold: 1. you have to be absolutely comfortable with using it, including the legal, moral and emotional consequences of it; and two you must know how to use it. This is not "Point at the bad guy and pull the trigger" this is knowledge and familiarity with it. there is a big difference.

So if you are comfortable with the idea of a taser, do your research. The taser corporation website is good and has good information, if a bit biased. Finally, if you do choose to carry a taser. Get the best. You are trusting your life with it.

There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

1. I think in each of those cases justice was served after a fashion. It is not the law that gets in the way, rather, at least spekaing to the OJ case and the MJ case, it is the lure of "high profile" that causes police and especially prosecutors to mis evaluate bad cases. I am not sure why, but some how the lure of publicity seems to ensure that these cases
are brought too soon, and some very serious mistakes are made in prosecuting them. More dangerous is the court of public opinion, which is rarely based on any evaluation of the facts, and certainly is infulenced and colored by mattters of convenience. In general if 200 million americans think he is guilty, that is a very strong case for him to be innocent and vice versa.

2. There are arguments both ways. The easiest answer I can say is that International law offten falls victim to the real politik of the moment. War is hrooible and thus it easy to condemn any use of armed force. But really was going to war in iraq more of a moral failure than not intervening in rwanda or playing patty fingers in bosnia? Why are we not willing to stop genocide?
I see the war in Iraq as inevitable. Given the possibilty than Hussein did have WMD's ( and I think he did, political expediency certainly ensure that all such weapons were removed or destroyed months prior to the invasion (only the most hopelessly naive really thought we'd find weapons if they were there).
But really the decision to go to war was based not on what weapons were in iraq, but on the question of "what happens to the political party in the white house if a dirty bomb goes off in atlanta, and iraq supplied the parts?" The answer of course is that party is done, over kaput, forever.
So I think we would be at war in iraq whether it was a democrat or a republican in the white house. But a smarter president would have waited longer and built a real coalition.

Finally I think the current mission in iraq utterly ignores every lesson taught in past threhudred years of military history.

3. If i were paid to defend him, I could mount a defense, yes.

4. If the ACLU can fing no better use of time and money than canging the seal, then I think this is a crisis. Its about making feel good changes and not substantive ones.

Jake,

the Golden State Warriors have been "taking it in the shorts" for over a decade (I think that's actually their official theme song). Has their roster improved enough that I could actually seem them in the playoffs this year?

Thank you,

Taco

Dear Dr. Jake ,

I have some questions for you.

"Why do men have nipples?"

"Who or what created the world? and who or what created that thing or that person? and who created that thing or person?Where did it all start? Who created the universe?"

(popular question) "what existed first...the chicken or the egg?"

I am not aware the thread is popular at all. I have a hand full of of much appreciated loyal readers to be sure. And I thank them, and everyone else who reads the thread, but I wouldn't call it popular. I can still travel in SL without being mobbed.

But thank you for reading.

"Who or what created the world? and who or what created that thing or that person? and who created that thing or person?Where did it all start? Who created the universe?"

1. Men have nipples because its nice to give a woman somthing to suck on above the waistline. Besides its much easier to cuddle and flirt when a woman is sucking on a nipple than when she is all the way down there. Mother nature is smart see!

Also it is much easier for string guys to fondle nipples in mock homo-erotic behavior than it is to fondle packages. If I go for my best freinds nipple he is likely to say Ooh baby! If I go for his package he will break my jaw. This fo course makes me wonder if gay men engage in mock hetero erotic behavior.

finally I think that nipples are made before a babys gender is determined, and so evey has them. besides you gotta have them to be a mammal.

2. What was your original face before you were born?

3. The egg, of course. Be then the first chicken was hatached from an egg laid by a dinosaur. Evolution.

December 12, 2005 at 2:15 pm. this is when the number of real residents will reach 70,000 and not just the number of accounts. There will be no first land available.
