WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

You're also missing the point. "Left" and "right" are just words that grossly oversimplify discussion and convince people to assume a collection of unrelated opinions only because they're the requisite opinions to belong to that "club."

Would it shock you to learn that I oppose gun control? I do, and not for the reasons typically given. Rather, I oppose it for the same reason Thomas Jefferson opposed it. Would it also shock you to learn that I strongly dislike Clinton? I do, and it has nothing to do with his sexual practices.

Actually No. I very much doubt that would do anything at all but get you killed. What I would suggest. If one felt so strongly about this would be to get involved in some way other then sitting (if the talking heads really are not just that. talking heads) on ones butt and browbeating everyone with an opinion that differs from thier own. Perhaps face to face discussions would be better. personalize it. But alas. You would need some kind of virtual world to do that because of the possibly vast distances involved. Bah. wishfull thinking. Like there will ever be a place like that. but If there were. and poor uneducated me was invited to join the debate. I think that somthing tangible may actually come from this mess of "Kill em all!" "were at fault" back and forth that has not shown one tangible change of opinion in some 500+ posts. as for my including billybob in my post at all. He showed that he had been involved in a way that was tangible. His military admission and i apologise if I seem to have singled him out. So what do ya say? More back and forth on the forums which gets nothing accomplished? Or something at least a little more "Real/virtual"?

Hmm, I don't fall into either left/right category either, so no I'm not surprised by any of that. And I already knew there's often different shades of grey.

However they're still valuable terms to some degree, probably more valuable than most common stereotypes out there. In fact you can see some left/right stereotypes reflected in the very poll link that I posted earlier:

And I'm sure there's other polls out there that would look similar..

Would it make you feel better if I said, for example, that many journalists who work for Fox news have many opinions (on varying subjects) that tend to reflect the conservative stereotype? Wordy and cumbersome, but it gets the same idea across as saying "Fox news journalists are generally conservative".

Or reverse it for "many" other journalists--and I say "many" based on the poll above since "many" of them claimed to be liberal/left leaning. Just looking at the numbers there...

You completely missed the point anyway Soleil. The left is really really quick to run by the side of the terrorists... and when two of ours are tortured to death... they are quick to point the finger at us, not the monsters that did this. My stating that we give them a copy of the Koran, which instructs them to KILL US and go to heaven and get their 72 doe eyed naked virgins... this was an example of how farking far we go for them... while they TORTURE US TO DEATH and practically get a free pass. It is hopeless to categorize people as left and right, nothing is so simple. To me, George Bush is a "liberal"... Spending vast sums we do not have. Servicing his financial cronies with all the debt in the world to collect interest off of...... (BTW, thats why Clinton angered the repubs and their allies with his budget surplusses....) Bush postures well as a "conservative", due to his adherance to the pet issues of the so-called conservative movement, which in itself is a collection of single subject issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc) which play on the prejudice of selected groups of our fine citizenry. (The hate and loathing coalition) The "Islamo-fascists" work hand in hand with this "conservative movement" in the sense that they give great amunition to these so called conservatives..... They handed Ronald Reagan a victory, just as 911 gave George Bush "legitimacy". If I were a Republican "rightist" , I would thank God for these islamic extremists. As to what to do, I would go into the Iraq war with overwhelming ground/air/sea forces, like WWII.... then leave. Or better return Saddam to power, Rofl, give em the leadership they deserve....
