Make sure that you upgrade to Catalyst 7.4 display drivers. If that doesn't fix it then try installing VistaSL from the link on the previous page of posts.

Video Cards Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000

You have integrated graphics which is different from these other issues. As far as I know, Second Life doesn't support this, so you will need a regular video card.
This is what I found on the system requirements page:
From: someone
Second Life may not run on graphics/video cards other than the ones listed above. Unfortunately, if your graphics card includes any of the following words, it's NOT compatible with Second Life:

* nVidia cards that report as a RIVA TNT or TNT2
* ATI cards that report as RAGE or RAGE PRO
* ATI cards that report as RADEON 320M, 340M, 345M, or similar model numbers
* Intel
* Intel Extreme
* 3DFX
* RIVA
* TNT
* SiS
* S3
* S3TC
* Savage
* Twister
* Rage
* Kyro
* MILENNIA

You are the best! I screamed out loud when my new Vista laptop actually managed to log into SL... I'd never even gotten to the login screen before this. I can't even imagine how many of us will now be able to live our 2nd lives happily because of you... Thank you again!

Dear, dear Lockhart,

Can you please help me too?
I've done everything you told in the previous threads. Downloaded 7.4 ATI driver, Cleared previous SL versions with %APPDATA% , downloaded your vistasl version and still got the error/message that driver of videocard is out of date or unsupported.
My system:
Vista Home Premium, ATI Radeon x1600, Intel Core 2 Duo T7400. Notebook Medion.
You would be my (second) Life-saviour!!!
xx

It is working!
05-11-2007 03:22
Ok, I tried everything over and over again.
It seemed I couldn't get the driver updates correctly. First I had to modify them with the tool Mobility Modder (look at: http://driverheaven.net/modtool)
Now everything seems to work fine!
Thanks again all for the instruction.

And its located where

RE: below text of the Zip file. Where is this file for us to download?

Thanks

From: Lockhart Cordoso
For those non-coders, I put the fixed version in a zip archive. Save zip somplace. Just extract the zip to your desktop and it should create a folder called SecondLifeVista. Inside of that, just double-click on the SecondLife application. If it doesn't work, post and let's see if we can figure this out.

If you use the 7.4 driver, then you won't need VistaSL at all. You would just use the official version. An ideal situation.

No, that doesn't work either. I have Vista Business x64, ATI X1950Pro with ATI 7.4 drivers, 4GB memory, 2 Opteron Dual-Core and I can log in, stand still and look around for 5-15 minutes, then I'm dropped to a bluescreen.

It isn't a hardware issue, that's for sure, I use this computer for work and it never acts like that with any other application than the SL client.

VistaSL 1.15.0.2: http://www.noxforum.net/files/Second Life 1-15-0-2 Setup.exe

I switched over to the installer files that Linden includes with the sources. This means that the program will install as if it were the official version. So I suggest that you uninstall the official version if you plan on using this version. Shortcuts will no longer be VistaSL but just Second Life. If you have any questions, IM me in-game or post here.

Hi Lockhard, the new SL grid update left me again without working viewer :-((
Could you please provide an updated version of your famous and wonderful VistaSL viewer?
That would be veeery kind.....
THX in advance

If you want you can try this version, which is slightly altered. Mini-map doesn't work and neither does the screen on the login page, but it has better performance (i think).
