Ati - Vista - OpenGL drivers out

Well, I came on and got the latest and greatest, but to no such luck with the download. I went to the SL website and got the drivers as stated in the previous post but this was the response I recieved when I ran the Cordosa Vista version of SL:

" Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date and unsupported. Please make sure you have the lastest video card drivers installed.
If you continue to recieve this message please contact customer support. "

Never recieved that message before from previous downloads.

Still hoping for a solution and wondering is there anything else I can do on my end?

Nothing is working for me.. help please. the drivers did not work. I don't know what to do.

When the Lindens startet the new "JIRA" ticket and proposal system, I put a proposition in to include Lockhart's VistaSL logic into the standard viewer. Maybe it would help to show the Lindens that there _is_ a problem, if some people would vote for that entry: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-639

Maybe that would result in a new job proposal for Lockhart, too

Is anyone having lagging or choppy problems with the new patch? Its slow.

My Windows XP runs very clean and fine, but on Vista 64-bit, I can be in world for max 20 minutes then my computer locks up so hard I need to use the reset button to get out.

After a few minutes in a texture rich enviroment SL goes to a crawl. Framerate 1 every 3 sek.
I have put the cache on a cheap USB memory and now i have a lot better performance and i can run SL for at least 45 min befor strange things starts happening and the hardisk starts running like mad again.

crappy ATI opengl drivers Vista anyone?, and youre using Vista with how much ram?, <2 gig ram it'll eat you alive -.-

4gig ram, and 8800 card, vista 64bit, eats 1750mb ram just booting the flipping thing for me :> , back to xp 158mb \o

Good news! I haven't been able to run SL on my laptop since getting Vista (the Linden Labs version of SL, that is) since my laptop has an ATI card.

But today I downloaded the latest drivers that Dell offers for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 8600 with a Radeon 7600 card) and it works!

Not sure how stable it is or anything, but this is the first time SL ran at all directly from Linden Labs latest version.

Does any one knows when linden labs will be able to make a sl with Vista support?

I have the last drivers for my laptop and just want to play sl but can only play thanks to Lockhart's link

1. Windows Vista, Linden Labs, ATI are playing up.
They have all three updated things however this still causes problems for a lot of users despite being noticed in January, and now 6 months on there is no real solution

There a few Vista Workarounds, that some people have had success with.

1. http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/ (this is a modification tool that modifies your ATI dirvers, this is at your own risk and can be slight difficult

2. http://www.noxforum.net/files/Second Life 1-16-0-5 Setup 2.exe this is a version rewritten by a Lockhard here on the forum and it have solved the problem for a lot of users with vista.

Also Write to lindenlabs. [email]contact@lindenlab.com[/email] and complain.

It their responsiblity and ATI's responsibility, it is not one or the other it is both developpers responsibility to make sure this work.

I can get in but i freeze within like 2 mins, This is rediculous and quite frankly its pissin me off

Today i tried the test version of sl 1.17.0 but i still got the same problem that i can't log in to sl because it's log in screen still crah.

Maybe someone can help me because i want to be online.

Got a intel T2080 1,73 ghz x2
Vista home Premium
2048 mb memory
Graphic ATI radeon Xpress 1100

Also i have installed the latest drivers for graphic card catalyst 7.5

Every time i sent i a crah report to Linden lab

If anybody knows a different way to get on sl please tell me.

Due to the Required Update most users who were using the Cordoso client before can no longer play, since the issue with Vista/SL is back. XP

I wish I could help resolve this issue, but I'm only here to request maybe a newer version of the Cordoso client? That would be lovely.

Either that or I should learn how to code.

AH? This means after today's update we can't use Cordoso version? Thats unitl and if he puts out another patch, right? Cordoso always comes to the rescue. VISTA SUCKS, VISTA SUCKS, VISTA SUCKS!

Yeah, more or less. We can't do anything because the required update overrides everything. We can't go back to the client because it'll just tell us "REQUIRED UPDATE" again. Fun. Guess i's time to wait as patiently as possible.

And technically, Windows Vista doesn't suck. It runs a lot of things quite well, but we're just having issues with this for now. I'll go ahead and say that I'm not too happy with it either, though.

Hi my name is Nichole . Spelled N I C H O L E . I have an SL addiction. My hands are shaking and i stand with my hands up in the air at times in the typing mode. I am feining for an sl fix. Since SL has updated to a new version all I do is walk in circles saying, Oh Lockhart please help me!

Jericho, sorry you had spent alot of tome looking for that but that was posted in another thread. I remember going there and realized that seemed very complicated for me. I guess I really am a blonde when it comes to this kind stuff. I need baby steps
