Ati - Vista - OpenGL drivers out

What date and version of driver you can see now in Device Manager?

good frigin gravy! where is an update for the SL Vista viewer? some of us need this badly...i have some $$$ tied up in land right now, any help would be much appreciated!!!

I had been under the impression that the new drivers were working for desktop and laptop, therefore new VistaSL was unnecessary. However, since there are still people that need it, I am compiling the new version of it now. I will make sure it doesn't crash, then post it up here. Since the new drivers work for me, I can't guarantee the build 100%, but it should work.

Ahhh okay, see I know nothing of the technical aspects. I wish I did but it's just not in my cards. Good luck trying to get back to second life.

I switched over to the installer files that Linden includes with the sources. This means that the program will install as if it were the official version. So I suggest that you uninstall the official version if you plan on using this version. Shortcuts will no longer be VistaSL but just Second Life. If you have any questions, IM me in-game or post here.

HELP ME!!
I installed yesterday the new release of SL.
When i try to start the program, for a while appears the black access window of SL without anything, only a black window, and after 2 seconds disappears all.
With the previous release everything was ok!
What happens?
I try to reset all the system and reinstall windows (XP) and install also new card drivers that worked fine with the previous release... but the problem is still here.

PLEASE HELP ME! GIVE ME A SUGGESTION TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

My configuration:

LAPTOP ASUS A6RP - INTEL 1.87 GHZ CELERON M440 - 1 GB RAM - Video Card ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M - 60GB HDisk
System Windows XP

Works for me too but after about 20 minutes in world it still seems slow. Good just be laggy though. Anyway seems like Lockhart updated VistaSL anyway so there are at least two fixes for Vista-ATI users.

Well, You did it again. Thank you so much. I'm back in SL. I guess ATI and Dell, have no intention to support the Mobility card, and SL isn't going to deal with Vista. Thanks to you I have a way in. But geez, can you keep doing this everytime SL has a new release? I sure hope so. Thanks again...

Okay i have inspiron E1505 Radeon X1400 graphic card. I have the ati 72 driver installed. Ever since sl updated I can no longer use the old one, and uninstalled it. So now when i downlaod your (lockhart) lastest one and try to install it it opens the windows and the closes all the windows. Dont get a chance to hit the run button. Can you please help because i can longer play sl now on this laptop. PLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEAAAASSSSSSSSEEEE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

You need 7.4 driver!

If you use the 7.4 driver, then you won't need VistaSL at all. You would just use the official version. An ideal situation.

OMG I still can’t play SL. I have downloaded the 7.4 driver from here http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/common-vista32.html and then downloaded SL and when the sl windows comes up it says something like setting the configuration and then goes to crash logger. What am I doing wrong? Sl still doesn’t work. Lockhart I had downloaded the 1.13.3.2 from you before and used that ever since and since good old sl did their maintenance. I no longer can play. Banging my head!!!

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with an ATI Radeon X1300 video card. Downloaded the lastest driver upgrades (yes, there's an open GL) and am running under Windows Vista. I'm on. That's all that matters to me!

Okay, Lockhart I really need your help. Was on the phone with dell and installed the 7.4 driver and thats done. I have spent a total of 10 or hours or more trying to get sl to run. Anyone out there who has a Dell E1505 laptop (running Vista) Radeon X1400 graphics card and sl works contact me if you would be willing to help me.

Well you can try the driver mods I posted a link to on page 18 of this topic. But the new SL client runs terribly for me. I have the same specs as you and when I run SL it slows down the whole machine. I checked my performance and I'm not maxing out the CPU or anything but everything runs choppy. Still it at least allowed me to log on, so try those driver mods, and the latest client version.

Just bought a brand new Alienware laptop with an ATI X1800 running Vista and can't even get to the login screen. I've installed SL under XP compatibility, still to no avail.

Will this work for my specs? Or do I need to send this back, eat the restocking fee, and downgrade to an XP machine running an nvidia card?
