Can't answer, the gender I play in SL isn't on the poll(and no it's not herm). I am a male IRL for what it's worth though, anyone who wanted to know in SL could always ask. o.o;

I almost always play female characters in games, and I usually wear a female avatar in SL. They just look nicer on screen. If I'm gonna stare at a monitor for hours on end, I'm gonna make damned sure I have something pretty to look at the whole time.

You're probably right. Teens tend to be over-concerned about other online folk's "real" gender...and if the she really IS a he, that would be too darn ironic. :D

Sorry to ruin you'r little wishes boys, I'm 19 and im female I happen to be born deaf in RL if you can understand what the words real life means. english reading and writing did not come easy for me. if my spelling is off that is why.

You can keep trying to belittle me but I'm the better person here. you call me stupid but look at you forum trolls. You have no life so you got to look for people to flame for any reason you can find.

my attitude? I'm nice when i'm not being attacked by a bunch of little kids like you. So grow up find something better to do with your time then follow my post to flame me.

You don't know me and its people like you i don't care to get to know, so leave me alone.

I've got to remember Im talking to a bunch of geeks and nerds. RL to you means a online world, sorry I'll try to remember that.

The planet called Earth where people live the real world, the really real world, where you eat and sleep. Im very open minded in that world.

Geeks and nerds built this game.

Geeks and nerds maintain it.

Geeks and nerds fill it with the things you buy and walk through.

Maybe you should have more respect for geeks and nerds.

Geeks and nerds made PCs, windows, the mac, those cool graphics cards, the internet, and just about every computer game in existence. Geeks and nerds created cyberspace. They also made all those cool machines and software that let all those movie companies make movies like XMen, Spiderman, Mission Impossible, Star Wars ... if it's got digital effects ... geeks and nerds made it possible. Add to all of that just about every piece of technology ... CD and DVD players, HDTV, iPod, digicams, cellphones.

Anyway, on topic. Male here and always play male in online games. But I do have a female avie I'm working on. I mean if you eventually plan to make stuff for ladies you don't test it on a male avie.

Geek, nerd, and proud of it.

You keep trying to twist what i said and it wasn't said to you so go troll some place else.. whats with you forum trolls? do you have to turn every post I do into a flame? can't you leave me alone and go do something more useful with your time?

I was reffering to people that can't see real life form online life. so stop attempting to flame me and this thread, and stop trying to twist everythign i say to mean what it doesn't.

If your not a total idiot you should know Geeks and nerds arn't defined by computer use. if so then almost the whole world would be geeks and nerds.

Everyone uses a computer of some kind, form game systems to desktops to laptops and everything else along the way for many different things people use them. so get facts strate before trying to twist my words.

I wish there was "You're an X and play both a female and a male" or "You're an X and play an asexual character" either of which would be more true for me.
I play-
A female human
A female toon skunk
An asexual were-mink
An asexual squid
A male wolf-gryphon

and I'm really a girl

Well, *I* think genderqueer is the total hotness anyways < But I'm strange like that

*Faints*

I do believe we should find ourselves a nice SL cafe, and have coffee ;)

I cross gender :P

I don't like Cross gender. I think everyone should use the proper gender they are in RL if you're a girl in RL use a girl Avatar. if you're a RL guy use a guy avatar. if you're a robot in RL use a robot avatar. If you're pet in RL plays SL let it use a furry avatar :P

I really don't agree with cross gender, but thats my thoughts.

Ethen Till= cross gender

you may not argee, but its fun to fool people XD, the great thing about SL you have your own choice. pending on that choice you make your avatar.. your avatar is like you... something that is you alone make of.

Cinthya, suggest you lighten up a bit and don't let it bother you.

Let people play cross gender if they want. After all Peter Pan on stage for the longest time has been played played by a girl. Noh opera in Japan traditionally is played only by men, and female characters are also played by men.

When one is a GM in an RPG he or she is forced to play just about everything, man, woman, kid, dog, elevator, computer, the weather ... everything except the characters of the players.

In SL we can have a robotic tentacle monster marry an oven toaster. Tomorrow that oven toaster might want to be a table lamp. This is a surreal world and everybody can become absolutely anything.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy all the transmogrifications that SL provides.

It's a simpler point of view to see an avatar and say to yourself "it could be a guy or could be a girl behind that avatar."

I don't ask about a person's RL gender either, unless it's in direct context with the conversation at hand. If someone's wearing a female av in game, I assume they don't want to be treated like a guy, and vice versa.

I'm physically male IRL, I switch back and forth mentally depending on the mood I'm in and the situation, and I have a male and female account on SL.

if people want to do the cross gender thing, thats no problem by me, good luck to them, but I really do wish there was a way to tell. I think people should be honest about it.

Depends on how you define honest. Some people really feel they are not the gender they are supposed to be, and as such their honesty would cause them to tell you something different than you'd see by looking between their legs. I'm not defending the guy looking for casual type-sex by wearing a female Avie and acting like a slut, though..

Shh ... not in front of the little teacups, we might wake them.

@Duntroon

I don't let it bother me. Then again, I'm not one of those who looks for intimate relationships in SL.

If ever I do get into one, I'm going to treat it with all the caution of meeting someone on the internet by any other means. I mean, I said I'm a guy and I'm honest about that, but how can you be so sure even right now that I am?

The only adivce I can give is of course, be cautious. We can't demand honesty across the board. That can only happen in South Korea where they need to put in their social security number to register for a game account, hence, gender is locked.

Teacups?.. TEACUPS!? Are you telling me someone around here has been going around without protection? I mean I always make my partner wear a plastic cover so I don't catch anything nasty..

It's only good if you use it before chairsex. It'll never get deep enough into the grain after... ahem.

P.S. I really do have a chair Avie ISL, and double P.S. Will this ever stop being funny? :B

Hmm ... I think the sheets need more starch, they're not stiff enough.

PS. The most inhuman av I have is a spider given by Hunter Stern (great work, man). I haven't gotten around to making a totally inhuman avie for myself yet.

(Sony) PS2. Almost died laughing really, but I have to go do stuff at the mall. NO I am not buying pledge, plastic covers, or starch. Best laugh I had in the past 2 weeks Myrilla (mwah).

PS3 Anyone want to take up Myrilla?
