I'm confused. Isn't Prokofy a she?

Please send Prok to me, I will fully test her and let you know. Thanks in advance.

Total freedom != having to bow to peer pressure. This was not the admin's rule. This was Gabe's pet peeve, which you have all rolled into some rule of the regulars and are now using to excise someone because you know he is stubborn and won't fold. It was a done deal at conception and you know it. Quit being disingenuous. It's insulting.

No disingenuity here. Same thing as going to SL Forums and not naming names or participating in threads that are designed to flame one person, except you won't be permabanned if you don't get an avatar--you will have one assigned to you. Alex had no rules, but now he has one where you need to get an avatar to post. There's a thread about it there somewhere and a sticky. Nobody has been banned. You're the disingenuous one.

It's akin to checking my email and having 4 out of the 5 messages being spam. I'm not interested, but I can't turn them off. Solution? Stop using that site.

The news is actually only on the 'home page', once you get into the forums you don't get that front page. It's shared on Stratics Central until it's big enough to develop into its own site.

From: Lordfly Digeridoo
And you've gotta be crazy; the TSO censorship was a big brouhaha in the early days of the Second Life Herald; heck, it's THE reason the SLH covers SL now instead of TSO!

If people get banned its because they broke the rules, not on the whim of a resmod. You have to remember also that the Herald thrives on drama, and the whole issue regarding Uri's banning from TSO for repeatedly breaking the rules is the reason all that started - over allegations that have never ever been proven.

Don't forget also, third party sites steal your IP number and do wicked things with them.

the powers that be there like avatars.

Yeah, the other forum members. This was not an admin thing til Mother/Fic.tional/Alex outed himself the other day.

It's a bunch of bullshit. You're all acting like a bunch of junior high schoolers. And to think that I have battled some of Prokofy's ridiculous views right along side of some of you.

OH NO YOU DON'T!!

You have not been banned. You have not been moderated. You have been given an avatar. THAT IS ALL!

Charade? You are flat out lying here Prok! How are you being silenced? How is having an avatar silencing you. OMG THE SHEER HORROR OF AN AVATAR!!! PROK MUST AVERT HIS EYES!!! HE CAN'T POST ANYMORE POOR THING. OH CRY CRY CRY FOR POOR PROKOFY!

You've been able to post despite the sheer amount of hate and invective thrown at you. You haven't cared in the slightest that people hate you there. And now we are expected to believe that having an avatar is preventing you from posting?

No. You will not do this. You will not spread your half truths and lies like they are some kind of truth. This is why people hate you. This is why you were banned from these forums. You are making drama and conflict so that you can be the center of attention and you are trying to spin things so that they appear to be other than they are. I must admit you are a master of that.

You have your own blog. It would be a fairly simple thing to add forums. If you want to conform to no one's rules but your own, go make your own forums and feel free to travel avatarless there. But on Second Citizen the rule is that you get an avatar.

Furthermore you started this thread. Not Mulch. And no one 'enlisted' the site owner. The avatar rule has been in effect since I began posting there. Welcome and 'get an avatar' were the first two things said to me. You have been welcomed there, despite the fact that you do nothing but denigrate the owners, the other members, refuse to get an avatar, and are generally a hate-filled person who posts nothing but avarice and spite. But this set of lies is low -- even for you.

From: Solario Galileo
Private boards which tout themselves as a haven from draconian moderators. Now we have Prokofy not only being moderated, he is being banned off the place because the forums regulars want him to get an avatar.

Do you really expect people to believe that charade Viavanne?

This is a way to silence him because you all know you couldn't do it by just outright banning him like they did here because "freedom" is supposedly paramount over there. So some of you cooked up this avatar business, enlisted the site owner, and did it that way. Mulch got high, and, in his haze, thought it would be funny to post about it over here, because we all know he orchestrated it, he is oh so proud of his accomplisment and wants reinforcement attention.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves for breaking your own *principles*.

and he can make it go away by either

1) leaving SC
2) choosing his own avatar

I didn't write that.

Nearly total freedom with two rules, one of which you - excuse me, Prokofy - decided to deliberately and rather loudly flout, from what I understand.

I'm not familiar with either the poster or the other forum, but forcing an avatar like the one which was used is poor taste and even poorer moderating.

If someone is not complying with forum rules and have been given ample opportunity to do so, either enforce the rule or ban them.

The forum in question could have easily put a generic avatar in place.

Banning should be an absolute last resort, but if a host wants to get rid of someone, just do it directly.

No, let's cry for those for whom it is such a horror to have to bear the excruciating pain of another forum member not having an avatar. No It was never an official rule. It does not say it when you sign up, and Gabe and others with fake angst and rage telling you to get one doesn't constitute and official rule. Sod off with that crap.

He wasn't banned. Adn he got a generic avatar. The avatar is designed to be distasteful so that you will get one of your own that is NOT distasteful. To be fair, you could put your own distasteful avatar there and you still wouldn't be banned.

I've only battled Prok on one occasion that I'm aware of, when he insulted a disabled person's intelligence, which was hitting far below the belt. I quite often agree with Prok's views, but because Prok can't find it to be civil and rational in his arguments, I don't join in the frays he causes.

I have nothing against anyone who posts at SC or here for that matter. Generalizing SC as a group who enjoy jokes about 'cumbubbles and farts', as Lordfly did, offended me for obvious reasons, but as I've stated in numerous posts --I like the freedom of Second Citizen, where there are only two rules and no bans happen.

There is one. A nice two shades of blue, with white, that says "No avatar selected".

No but that didn't stop you from crying on my shoulder in game and telling me at length how unfairly you were treated and asking me to go look at your posts... aww poor prok, treated so unfairly. If you want people to believe that, disenguinity in large doses at later points is a bad idea... Just sayin...........

Key word: some. Wasn't referring to you, in other words.

Mulch has stated he can use an avatar or leave. I said this was an indirect way of banning him and it is, because Mulch and Mother knew he would resist. It was likely also intended as a way to prevent your sacred freedom to do or say whatever the fuck you want over there mantra from being stained. Mulch and Mother are no dummies, but they didn't think this one through very well.
