Get an avatar I'm just curious because you agree to an entire page of rules here (the TOS). Yet you find adhereing to two rules over there a hardship. Why is that? |

The owner/admin of this third party forum has, at the behest of some popular, regular forum members forced an avatar on Prokofy Neva by logging into his account and selecting one chosen for him by said forum members. Prokofy was told to get an avatar or they would choose one for him, and that if he didnt use one, either of their choice or his, that he could no longer post there. This is an excuse to get rid of a person they don't like. The irony is that some of these same people have claimed in the past that they were against Prokofy being silenced on these official SL forums, yet here they are using his choice to not have an avatar as as an excuse to get rid of him. The default is a box with "no avatar selected", as opposed to having nothing at all as some forums have. In essence you already had one, it was just the starter kit that posters grow out of as they spread their forum wings. If putting a white box as an avatar is what is forcing you to leave, than you definitely didn't want to be there anyway. I think, Prok, you are looking for a reason to leave and all you really had to do was not post. I welcome your presence there, but only if you want to be there, which you have made abundantly clear that you do not, despite the high post count. _____________________

Now we have Prokofy not only being moderated, he is being banned off the place because the forums regulars want him to get an avatar. Do you really expect people to believe that charade Viavanne? This is a way to silence him because you all know you couldn't do it by just outright banning him like they did here because "freedom" is supposedly paramount over there. So some of you cooked up this avatar business, enlisted the site owner, and did it that way. Mulch got high, and, in his haze, thought it would be funny to post about it over here, because we all know he orchestrated it, he is oh so proud of his accomplisment and wants reinforcement attention. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for breaking your own *principles*. |

It's kind of like going to a home where you are not allowed to wear shoes inside the house. Take off your shoes at the door, show respect. That's all it is. Prok didn't like the rule, and a few others don't like the rule. Will the home owner not invite them back? Not in SC's case, but it does rankle when someone refuses out of spite to not take off their shoes, especially when they are given total freedom in the home. _____________________

Margaret I can't. Near as I can figure out, someone decided we should have a rule and made it 'you must have an avatar' -- in the large scheme of things if we must have a rule that didn't seem so bad to me. I inquired once and got a shrug and told that the powers that be there like avatars.
